Chapter 30: The End of the Tale

Chapter 28: Humphrey's Decision

It took two days for Kate and Humphrey to return to the valley and they were greeted happily when they arrived.

“You’re back!” ular berbisa, viper exclaimed when she saw them.

“What happened with Viggo?” Oscar asked.

“He’s gone,” Humphrey replied, beginning to explain their entire ordeal.

“Viggo’s dead?” Stinky asked when Humphrey was finished.

“They’re all dead,” Kate replied. “Viggo, Robert, the survivors of the battle; they’re all gone.”

“It’s finally over,” Humphrey said, smiling a little.

Word quickly spread that Viggo and Robert were dead...

For the selanjutnya four months, Leyla and ular berbisa, viper anxiously waited for any news about Humphrey. Then one hari in early spring, they finally got it. Humphrey was finally getting out of his cast and Leyla left to go and get him. When she got there, she almost didn’t recognize him. Because he had spent so much time completely immobilized, Humphrey was being wheeled around on a large, flat cart. When Humphrey woke up the selanjutnya day, he was in a completely different place. For a moment, he thought he was back in the pack, but as he looked around, he realized that nothing was familiar. Chapter 5: Dawn of Destruction

Night had fallen and Claudette, Runt, and most of the pack had long since gone to sleep. A few serigala remained awake to guard the borders in case something went wrong, sleeping in shifts the whole night. The rest of the hari had gone oleh without event after Stinky had left and everyone thought nothing bad was going to happen. As dawn approached, however, something did happen. Something that would change everyone’s lives forever.

Epilogue

The selanjutnya five years of Humphrey’s life passed quickly. He had become good friends with Salty, Mooch, and Shaky and they rarely did anything alone. One day, toward the beginning of fall, Humphrey decided to tampil them something he had been meaning to for a while but had never gotten the chance to. He led them up to a bukit, hill near a waterfall and he found a sturdy logboard for them. The four went hurtling down the bukit, hill when Salty, Mooch, and Shakey were thrown off and only Humphrey was left. Humphrey’s life improved significantly ever since he officially became part of the Western Pack. Everyone was kind to him, the caribou was the best he had ever had, and most importantly, he was happy. So happy, in fact, that over the years, he slowly began to forget about his past. He forgot about his life in the woods with Arnold, and he forgot about his real family. In time, he truly believed he had lived in the Western Pack his whole life as his traumatic memories were slowly suppressed oleh his new life.

This movie has always been somewhat of an on/off experience for me. I enjoyed it when I saw it in theaters back in September of 2010 and a bulan atau so after picking up the DVD, it became an obsessive compulsion from early 2011 to around mid-2012. Nowadays while I still like the movie, I have not watched it nearly as often as I used too, maybe two times between every few months. Sometimes I've held off of it for about a year. And I plan to continue it that way because back then where I call "the dark ages", that obsession was just unhealthy especially around the movie's lead female, Kate.
