Eric dropped his backpack on the couch, glancing over at the T.V. Static, again, but no one seemed to be watching. Looking towards the kitchen, he noticed M’gann wasn’t there, cooking like she usually was. In fact, the whole cave had an empty air to it. Well. Emptier than usual.
It had been two months since any of them had seen Infinity, after she’d stormed out and announced a name change, to Phoenix. She never was around to enforce it, however. Cutting off all ties with the team and League, she’d gone completely off the map, disappearing from everyone in a matter of seconds.
The sixteen tahun old sighed, and knelt down to fix the cables on the television. As far as anyone knew, the girl had cut off communication completely. But every once in awhile he’d find a picture on his phone. They never had any clues as to where she was, but he, Delta, Robin and Aisling were the only ones receiving them. He once got a handwritten note from her two weeks after she left.
He got up onto the dipan, sofa when he heard the news anchor start rambling on about prescription drugs. Going for the remote, he hit the guide button and started sorting through the channels, looking for something that was on. Just as he found something remotely interesting, his ears picked up something from the news report.
“In the latest crime watch, we have just learned that the crime rate in Trinity is dramatically decreasing, due to a step up in the police force, and the help of a mystery hero. He atau she has not revealed him atau herself to the public yet; the only clues there is hero help involved are the feathers and piles of ashes found selanjutnya to every criminal not caught oleh the police, and a hand-written note.”
The aforementioned note was shown on the screen, and Eric paused it in an instant. He inspected it closer, as close as possible from the screen. He pulled out a piece of somewhat crumpled paper, opening it. “Oh, fuck.”
Grabbing his phone, his eyes switched from the paused T.V. screen to the note in his hand. “Delta!”
“Dude.. it’s like... 7 in the morning... on a Saturday... what the hell?”
“Delta, I found her.”
“...what?”
“I found Phoenix.”
“...I’ll be there right away. DICK!”
He hung up and stared at the note, not bothering to unpause the newscast. His eyes trailed scanned it over and over, already having memorized it. A smile graced his lips when he realized what was going to happen. Finally.

Across the country, someone was thinking the exact same thing.
Sitting in a small abandoned flat on the edge of Trinity, Kyra flicked the T.V. off and fell back onto her pillow, thinking it over. It had been a good choice to tell the police how to do their job. Maybe it was time to officially apologize to her siblings and friends. And she hadn’t officially broken up with Eric. Sure, they hadn’t seen each other, but they weren’t exes. She’d explained that.
Standing up, she strode over to the closet and pulled the door open. Encased within a dinding to the right of the door was a dark chest, locket tightly, but no key could open this. Kyra knelt down and lit her finger on fire, carefully tracing a certain pattern in the chest’s engravings. It opened smoothly, without a flaw, and she lifted out a pair of black kevlar pants with golden red highlights, as well as a cropped tank puncak, atas that had a highlight swirl in the same color.
The fifteen tahun old smiled again at the sight of the costume and slipped it on, as well as a pair of golden-red gloves and her old black boots. She spent a couple of detik staring at the mask in the chest, wondering if she’d use it, but shook her head and sealed the chest. Grabbing her sabuk from the counter and clipping it around her waist, Kyra approached the door, her blue eyes turning emas once more. As she passed oleh the mirror in the front, she noticed a streak of emas in her hair that hadn’t been there before. Inspecting it closer, she gave a small chuckle. “Neat..”
She turned away and shut the door as she left. It was time to re-meet some friends.
