Bro action is hard to write

But imagery and all is important for building everything. Its the foundation XD

Oh yeah I agree, action is difficult for me too. I'm way better at imagery and I enjoy it more, both reading and writing it.

I really enjoy doing descriptive writing about the imagery, but over the years I've actually noticed that when I read, I prefer to read about the action rather than the imagery, so that a certain amount of it is left to the imagination (meaning there's enough room for me to come up with my own, unique ideas for what the characters and settings look like). And I think that's made me try to focus more on action in my own work too. I probably do enjoy it more nowadays, but like the above comments I also agree that it can be very challenging to write.

I feel like many people like reading more action and find the imagery to be boring/extra fluff. I used to be like that lmao. Now I think that I've fall into more of the poetics and getting immersed in the world. At least with landscape; that's where I adore imagery. Though I like less description of characters, because I like to use my imagination there.
I agree though action can be very fun. Just harder to write. Sometimes a challenge is good though.

I like to write action scenes a lot, but in order for them to feel really strong and awesome, it`s good to set the image straight. Like, the more you describe everything in details before, the more you can concentrate on action afterwards.
And books with well written imagery has less chance to turn into very disappointing movie adaptations later.

I definitely agree with that!

I prefer this, but it kind of depends on the genre and theme of the story.
