FireKit woke in the nursery, wriggling in her nest of feathers. Her mother's soft, dark grey pelt rose and fell beside her, and Rosekit squealed as the little tortoiseshell tumbled off the fluffy moss. CinderHeart grumbled, then murmured words of comfort and nudged here back with one paw.
