CHAPTER 3

I woke up to an extremely bright sun in my face and hot sand in my hair. I must not have been in the sun for long because I hadn't burnt yet. I could hear the sound of human laughter but it felt like it was coming from the inside of my head, all I could smell was smoke from a camp fire. I rolled over and pushed myself up off the sand and I looked around, still trying to figure out what happened. All I remembered was the egg, the flash of colour, and feeling I was falling from an airplane and then slammed onto a rock. I'm surprised I'm not dead atau severely hurt, but where had I landed, it was defiantly on a beach. I stood up and looked around though it was hard to see from the blinding sun.
‘‘You feel any better?'' I heard a voice from behind me say. I spun around recognizing the voice.
''Yes I'm feeling much better......Chris?'' It was tough to see him at first but as he came closer I could see him lebih clearly. He looked a bit different. He was bronze for one, his bangs were still long but uneven like he tried to cut them himself. His eyes were the same black colour. He started to walk towards me and grabbed my arm to steady me. I hadn't even noticed that I was shaking. ''Here anda should sit down'' Chris said. All of the sudden he scooped me up in his muscular arms and began to carry me from the beach. I pressed my face against his warm skin, feeling drowsy as I listened to the deep strong thumping of his jantung and breathed in his strong scent of earth and salt water. I was also starting to wish I had eaten breakfast. He carried me to what looked like a village on the beach. There were several of houses made of logs and sticks, but not like mud huts lebih like tiny cabins. He brought me into one of the cabins. It was small but still could easily sleep 3 people; there was nothing to cook with and no dapur just a sleeping area. The floor looked like it was made of mosaic tiles made of green and white sea glass. Chris laid me on a conferrable tempat tidur that seemed too made of animal furs, I was no expert but it was defiantly beruang atau a very large wolf. The whole room was filled with the smell of soil and the ocean; I could hear the waves crashing on the pantai of the beach. ''How did anda get here Alana'' Chris berkata as he stifled a giggle.
''You first'' I replied ''just to make sure I'm not crazy''.
    Chris looked at me and gave me this crooked smile, this gorgeous smile. He used to give to that same smile to a girl named Talia. She was the most beautiful girl in our school until she sort of dropped off the map a long time ago, I had always been jealous of her.
''Ok so ill be the first to sound crazy. Well the quick version is that my dad bought that egg from your brother to put in the museum, I have no clue were your brother got it from but I wanted to see it so my dad showed it to me and selanjutnya thing I know I'm on this beach. Now it's your turn Alana.'' He said.
‘‘Well your dad brought back the egg thing and I guess told my brother what happened to you. I searched my brother’s study and found the egg. I saw an image of anda in it, then it started to glow and selanjutnya thing I know I'm on the same beach.'' I said. He came down beside me grabbing my hand in his. My hands were all sweaty and my jantung was pounding so hard I thought I was having a jantung attack. “You have been keeping secrets Alana" he said. “I’m not sure I know what anda mean I quickly replied. Chris leaned in close to my ear and he whispered "You never told me how nervous I make you". I pulled my hand back as fast as I could and started to blush. He got up off the tempat tidur and started towards the door gesturing for me to follow. I got up and immediately crumpled to my knees. Chris ran over to and pulled me back up. "That's weird" he berkata scrunching up his face, "something is very wrong". "What what's wrong' berkata in a panicked tone.
"That mark on your cheek it wasn't there before". Chris let go of me and I ran to piece of broken glass that had been stuck to the wall, and there it was.













CHAPTER 4



It looked a bit lebih like a scar to me but sure enough there it was. It was shaped like a cross, when it hit the sun light it began to burn and I could hear my skin sizzle. I screamed and jumped back smacking into Chris's rock hard body. He turned me around to face him; I looked into his black eyes as he took one of his hands and traced the mark. He tried to keep a calm look on his face but I could see he was holding back something.
"What does the mark mean" I berkata keeping my voice low.
"He's claimed anda which mean he will be coming to collect anda soon. You're not safe." He glanced over his shoulder as if he was paranoid that someone was going to sneak up behind him and stab him in the back. Then, gently brushing me aside and grabbed a small pouch made of sown together cloth off the tempat tidur and pulled me out the door. "Wait!" I yelled standing my ground. "Okay, who’s coming to collect me and what does this mark mean" while keeping my hand on my cheek, afraid that it would burn again.
"Look, as soon as were in the jungle and far from the pantai I'll explain but right now we really need to go" his expression was suddenly serious with some concern. There was suddenly gun api and the smell of sulfur mixed with the smoke in the air, there were terrified screams as men broke down doors checking people’s faces.
"That's our cue"
"Our cue for what" I said, all of a sudden very confused.
"RUN!” and just like that we bolted to the jungle. I ran faster than I ever had before, I really didn't have a choice because I was practically being dragged oleh Chris. The jungle was full of the sounds of monkeys screeching and birds chattering at one another, I could smell sweat and earth. We stopped for a detik to catch our breath. My kemeja was sticking to my back and my hair was a tossed mess of curls. Chris's skin shimmer with beads of sweat and we were both breathing heavily. Suddenly I heard something wiz past my ear and when I turned around there was an panah with a red ribbon tied to it jammed in the pohon behind me. When I looked in the direction it came from I saw a girl about my age step out from the brush. She have a slim but muscular build, her hair was brown and silky, her skin the colour of ivory and her eyes were a piercing blue, she was very beautiful.
"God dame it Patricia." cursed Chris. The girl stopped just long enough to look me over once then brushed past me to pull the panah from the tree.
"I see anda found yourself a new toy eh Chris." she said. Her voice was rough sounding but still beautiful and her expression was hard as rock. I wasn't sure what she meant oleh a new toy but I was positive she was not happy I was here.
"Patricia I would like anda to meet Alana, Alana this is my friend Patricia."
"Hi Patricia, nice to meet you"
"Hmm, wish I could say the same. Looks like anda two are in a hurry, going somewhere?" I tried my best not to snap at her, I was known for my bad temper Chris was a witness to my boiling emotions, when Brandon from my gym class teased me about the fact that I was a 'teacher pet' I shoved him so hard he smacked his head on the dinding and blacked out. I was surprised I had shoved him that hard and in the end I was suspended from school for a week, at least it made Chris laugh when it happened.
"Small situation no big deal, we got to go" Chris told her, it was clear he did not want her coming along.
"Well ill come with anda and anda can explain this small situation on the way."
"Patricia this involves Alana and Zerokenum's claim on her."
I finally couldn't take it anymore, I yelled at them "what does that mean Zero what's his face claimed me?"
Chris turned to face me, a concerned look on his face.
"I'm not sure you'll be able to handle it, those claimed oleh Zerokenum, disaster follows."
