Not Your Typical Country Girl Chapter Three
Lunch was the best lunch I had ever had. I had never tasted such a good meal before. I thank Abigail for lunch as I helped cleaned the table. After I got done cleaning up lunch, Abigail and I went outside. I was not sure what we were going to do but I followed her anyways.
We went over to the horse pin where Tucker was 'breaking' the horse. It was odd to see. The horse was really scared of Tucker. anda could tell oleh her eyes and how she was running around the pin.
"She is a beauty, isn't she," Bryce berkata as he came up.
"Um, yeah she is," I said.
"Have anda ever rode a horse," he asked.
"Nope, this is the closest I have ever been to one," I stated.
"Would anda like to learn how to ride," he asked hopeful.
"Sure," I shrugged.
I followed him the lumbung, gudang to where Abigail was putting a saddle on a horse.
"Harmony wants to learn how to ride a horse," Bryce berkata enthusiastic.
"Really," Abigail beamed, "I would cinta to teach you!"
"Sounds cool," I stated.
"Okay, I will finish saddling up my horse then we can go to the field and anda can just sit on the horse till you're comfortable with him," she berkata smiling.
"Okay," I said.
I was in a little bit of amazement as someone could control such a bug horse. I mean these creatures could just run over a human and yet they can control them.
"How do I get on," I asked curiously as looked at the huge horse.
"Put, your left foot in the stirrup, then pull up, and ayunan over," Abigail said, "it cannot come any natural as it just did for you!"
"What now," I asked a little confused.
"I will just let anda sit there till anda get comfortable and then I will hold the reins as the horse walks slowly," she said.
"Okay," I said, "I a ready fir the horse to walk."
"Are anda sure," she asked, "it is okay to he uncomfortable and scared at first!"
"I am fine. It is actually comfortable sitting here," I stated.
"Okay, we will walk slowly then anda can walk slowly while anda control the horse," she smiled brightly.
This must be a big step for people who have never rode a horse. But it was actually comfortable and I felt really calm as I sat there.
"What did anda mean oleh 'natural'," I asked.
"I meant that it looked as if anda have already done this," she said, "like anda have done it everyday of your life!"
"Oh, well, this is a first for me," I shrugged.
"Were anda born down here," she asked curiously.
"Yes, I have lived here all my life," I stated, "well, technically not here! I meant the orphanage."
"Oh okay," Abigail said, "who named you?"
"I think it was my grandmother," I said, "I do not really know!"
"Oh okay; I was just wondering because it is a very pretty name," she said, "I do not think I have heard of anyone around here named that. So anda will stick out! Everyone is dying to meet you!"
"I believe I actually stick out for once," I laughed, "really, me?"
"Yes, everyone is excited for us to have a daughter! And it is the talk of the town," she said.
"Well, if they here my name, they are not going to expect what they will see," I said.
"May I ask anda why anda dress this away," Abigail asked curiously.
"Sure; this is pretty much who I am," I shrugged, not really knowing what to say, "just because I live in the south, does not mean I dress country. I mean this nicely too! I did not grow up on a farm like this so that's not really who I am!"
"Okay, I was just wondering," she smiled.
"Yep, this is me," I said.
"Do anda want to walk while anda hold the reins," she asked.
"Sure," I shrugged as she handed them to me.
I was kind of sick of riding really slow, so I decided to kick it up a notch! I kicked the horse softly and we started walking a little bit faster.
"Good job, Harmony," Abigail berkata proudly, "how did anda know to do that?"
"I dunno," I shrugged, "can I go faster?"
"Sure! To go faster, just give her a little kick and to slow down, just gently pull back on the reins," she said.
"Okay," I smiled, "this was going to be!"
I kicked the horse and we took off down the long fenced in field. We were going. I gently pulled back on the reins and she slowed down. I turned the horse around and then took off in the opposite directions. This was actually fun! I look over at Abigail and noticed she was talking to the whole family and Tucker. They were all watching me which I found a little odd. So I walked the horse back over to Abigail and got off.
"Thank you," I said.
"Did anda like it," Bryce asked.
"Yeah, it was pretty fun," I said.
"I am glad," he said, "because as soon as Tucker finishes training that horse, it is yours!"
"Wait, I get my own horse," I asked shocked.
"You sure do," Abigail said, "only if anda want it!"
"Thanks," I smiled as I was sort of speechless.
I went over to the fence where my-soon-to-be-horse was. She was pretty.
"You better start thinking of names," Tucker berkata as he came over.
"I guess," I shrugged, "I am not good at naming things!"
"Well this is not some thing, it is a horse," he stated, "so make sure anda like the name!"
"Okay," I said.
