Do anda Have Any Traditions During The Autumn/Colder Months?

Typically, I decorate halloween and leave up throughout November because my decorations are Autumn, not Halloween, and those colours and things still apply. It makes my life easier and I get to enjoy it longer. I am not a comercial person. I detest plastic if I can help it, too. I cinta scented candles, things of glass, wood, metal, nature -natural things, being the earth mother-type. I want my halaman awal to smell of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and mulling spice, oranges, and labu spice!

I bake pies~ specifically pumpkin in November. (Also others- including kacang pikan, kemiri pie.) I will sip my hot mulled apel, apple cider & create my own traditions centered around the cinta and quality, gratitude & faith I feel. Feasting is fine ~ but instead of hurrying through prepartions that may begin the night before, etc. I would rather not eat early to try to catch football and everyone then leave. I would much prefer a lovely makan malam with family AND friends around evening as it begins to get dark and be filled with games and relaxation.

Honestly?
My mom goes around decorating the house in halloween and Autumn decs, and I watch, offering to help which she promptly responds "Heellllllll no. NO." every time. And then goes into a spiel of why I am not allowed to help with such things after an 'incident' a couple years yang lalu that she will never let me hear the end of. Its the same thing too with the winter holdiays.....
Other than that, try to keep me and my cousin sober. Cause even though were both underage my family tends to get drunk on Thanksgiving especially when my aunt brings rare wine and my uncle rare bir that no ones ever hear of. And whether anda know it atau not- drunkness is infectious, so they'll be akting drunk which leads to me and my cousin subconciously akting drunk which leads to bad decisions which leads to EVERYONE waking up with a hangover.
We're so dysfunctional.

Well, in NZ the colder months are from around May to August, so generally I make a tradition of drinking lots of hot chocolate, making soups and hearty food, as well as going for a good couple of tramps, because they are the best during the cold months and when there's at least some snow. XD
