Happy NaLu week! (Definitely trying to crank these things out)
Disclaimer: We all know that Hiro Mashima created Fairy Tail.
Maybe in the midst of the fairy tale of another, they could find their own happy ending. atau perhaps… a beginning?
Genre: Friendship/Romance
Rating: K
Pairing: Natsu/Lucy, Gray/Juvia (mentioned)
Notes: I really want to develop Natsu and Lucy’s relationship, and I hope I can participate in the full NaLu week, so that I can exemplify their different phases of their relationship. At this point, their both questioning whether they can pursue something more… romantic? Anyway, this is just some light fluff, with a light mention of Gray and Juvia because I’m just a shipper.
Lucy Heartfilia was floored that Fairy Tail can still surprise her with how far their loud, destructive nature can exceed. Glancing at herself, her beautiful cornflower chiffon dress now stained with unidentifiable food, grass, and some champagne tucked near the edge, she supposed she went all out as well. Considering the occasion, however, she decided she would indulge in her guild’s antics.
After all, Juvia had just become Gray Fullbuster’s wife.
She giggled as she escaped the boisterous festivities for some fresh air, thinking about the newlyweds. Finally, after all that the fawning, dreaming, and plotting Gray manned up and asked her out for a date. It snowballed into this fairy tale romance that seemed so surreal, and then- wham!- a proposal was thrown out and who was Juvia to say no to her Gray-sama?
Standing outside, she let the spring breeze roll over her, contently peaceful, despite the racket her guild was making.
They were like a spin of the Little Mermaid, a fairy tale that her mother read to her as a young girl. Lucy sighed, a bit envious of their happily-ever-after together as a couple, her own romantic mind wishing the same for herself.
If only I had a prince to sweep me away…
"… Lucy?" The hesitant pertanyaan made her turn around, facing her partner, thoughts interrupted.
Natsu Dragneel still looked quite sharp in his black dress shirt, his sleeves rolled up, his white tie virtually gone from his person, and his celana panjang longgar, celana panjang dusted with who knows what. Not mention his adorable mess of hair even lebih in a disarray than usual.
That wasn’t to say… Well, Lucy knew there was something there every time she even though about her constant companion. The kupu-kupu in her stomach and her flushed face kind of hinted at it, but it was so hard to admit! Natsu was… Natsu was everything she hadn’t expected, from his mannerisms, his beliefs, and his steadfast strength that made her wholehearted faith in his actions grow with each day.
To herself, she can honestly say she was in cinta with Natsu Dragneel.
To the person in pertanyaan however…
"Natsu?" Lucy answered back, “What brings anda out here?"
He approached her, hands in his pockets, staring out to the calm night life of Magnolia, “I could ask anda the same thing, Luce. Partied out already?"
Lucy laughed, “I do not know how anda all do it constantly, but, no, I still have some energy left." She glanced at him, mesmerized at how his eyes glowed as the stars she constantly gazed at, “I was just thinking about Gray and Juvia and their wedding."
He snorted, half-smirk on his face, “Ice brain? He’s lucky Juvia’s been into him forever," he turned to face her, “You have that weird look on your face; what’s up, Luce?"
Startled, she was wondering, how he, always, picked up on her moods. Shyly, she looked up at him, admitting her thoughts about fairy tales, romance, and her whimsical dreams. Surprisingly, this time, Natsu seemed to be intently listening. As she was really getting into it, all of sudden, Natsu grabbed her hand. What in the world…
Gapping at her companion, who was now bowing formally, she uttered her confusion. Despite his windswept appearance, Natsu looked… looked… well, dashing.
Then, he looked up, his dark eyes brightened with mischief, “Milady, may I have this dance?"
Floored, she could do nothing lebih than nod, and all of a sudden, she felt herself following his footsteps in an impromptu, makeshift dance. There wasn’t any musik other than crazy antics of their guild filled with bangs, yells, and cheers, but the evening was darkening and the stars luminated brightly. All of this was so overwhelming. Lucy was dancing, with Natsu. It felt like she was weightless, spinning around outside, with only the stars as witnesses.
In his arms, she felt like a princess.
Lucy glanced up at Natsu underneath her eyelashes, she wanted to ask him why he was doing this, but the pertanyaan stopped inside her throat. He was preoccupied with looking around them and his movement of his feet, but there was distinct tinge of berwarna merah muda, merah muda splayed on his cheeks.
Was he blushing? She shook her head, he couldn’t be. Natsu could not reciprocate her feelings… could he?
Her jantung was pounding, and she can feel herself turning red, but she couldn’t deny she was happy. Lying her head down on his chest, their dancing slowing down to slight rocking.
"Thank you."
Natsu gently placed his chin down on Lucy’s head, and asked, “For what?"
"For making me feel like Cinderella." She felt his face turn towards a smile.
"Is that the one with the whole glass slipper thing? anda already ran away once," his face sank a little as he frowned, most likely recalling her leaving without a notice to confront her dad, “so let’s not go for a detik time, okay?" They slowed again, practically to a stop and he pushed her an arm’s length, his nose wrinkling in apprehension, “Being a stuffy prince sounds so boring too."
Lucy laughed, only he would think about it that way. Instinctively, she separated from him and leapt into his arms for a hug.
"No, you’re much better than that."
You’re my shining dragon.
