I don't think so. He thought she'd be better without him, and he was wrong. Everybody makes mistakes, even him. He didn't realize that what he was doing when he left her was make feel worse than ever.
Edward was attempting to be very rational when he left. It was a self-sacrificing move; leaving behind what he wanted most in the world in order to save her from his lifesytle.
In my opinion though, it was a tad bit dumb for him to leave Bella. He did it with the greatest of intentions, but he failed to take into account that she would be far worse off without him there. Edward would never hurt her and for that reason, she is far safer with him than with immortal people who cannot protect her from every other things trying to harm her.
Edward did that to protect Bella from himself and from his family but i think he shouldn´t ever left her!! He berkata once that he´s a selfish creature so... even if he is dangerous to Bella if he loves her that doesn´t matter cause we know Edward will never hurt Bella and we will protect her always!
i dont believe he was dumb he was trying to protect her and he did that the only way he tought possable he will all do stupied things for the people we cinta but we never see the out come he loved bella terefore in his world he thought it was not the right place for her and left and i know if i had to do the same for the person i would try but i know i would just be selfish xxxx
I can understand his motives, but it was a dumb move. He could have at least explained to Bella why he had to leave (even if it was in a Dear John style letter like the main character in one of my stories did) instead of telling her all the mean things he said.
I think he was smart to leave him. But I think it was stupid with how he did it. He told her he didnt want her. I just dont think the way he did it was very bright. He put her in a position where she went self destructive. She couldve done a lot of harm to herself and may have gotten killed. he was stupid and selfish i think.
