Daniel Radcliffe interview about DH part 2?(SPOILER)

In an interview with Movie Magic Mag, Daniel Radcliffe berkata that Voldemort tried to beat Harry to death..
He states 'He(voldemort) just tries to kill Harry, physically, just oleh beating him up...'
Does this happen in the books? It's been a while since I've read them.....
