Dear fellow-fanpoppers,

Recently fanpop introduced a new feature to our profil pages:

The Showcase!

Eventhough it’s not a very complicated feature, there seem to be quite a few pertanyaan surrounding the caps. This gave me the idea of menulis this article, answering the most aksed questions. Let me first say that everything I write is based on how I think this new feature works. I’m not one of the fabulous F4, so please correct me if I’m wrong about something.

1. What is the Showcase?
This pertanyaan was answerd oleh F4 Dave: “The new showcase is for your fanpop bottlecap collection that will continue to grow with new and exciting hadiah based on your participation and activity across the site.” In other words, the Showcase is the place on your profil page where all your hadiah are presented.

2. What are Caps?
hadiah are rewards that can be earned in different ways (that I’ll explain later). Consider them prices for various things anda do on Fanpop. They have no further purpose, it’s just fun to get them.

3. How do I get Caps?
That depends on the kind of cap. The system for getting them is automated (like the medals) so whenever anda deserve to get one, anda will. Some can be earned oleh doing specific things, others are diberikan randomly.

4. What different kinds of hadiah are there?
So far there are 5 different types of Caps. I’ll explain every type and how to get them here:

4a. fanpop Firsts
There are 5 hadiah to earn in this category so far:
1. Fanpup: “Welcome to Fanpop! You’ve earned this adorable anak anjing, anjing for joining the fanpop family. We’re glad to have anda here!” This topi is earned when anda gabung Fanpop, therefore every Fanpopper has this cap.
2. Picture Perfect: “Now don’t anda look sharp in that profil picture anda just uploaded? atau is that a picture of your dog? Either way, well done.” This topi is earned when anda upload a profil picture.
3. Speak your mind: “You added a motto to your profile. Good for anda for speaking up for yourself.” This topi can be earned oleh adding a motto to your profil page.
4. Wall: “Writing on someone's dinding on fanpop is not really vandalism, we approve of your graffiti here.” This topi can be earned oleh menulis something on somebody’s wall.
5. Facebook: “ Thanks for facebook Connecting us! anda really "like" us! Don't worry, we won't spam your News Feed.” This topi can be earned when anda connect your fanpop account to your facebook account, and like the fanpop page on Facebook.

Caps in the "Fanpop First" category

4b. Frequent Flier
There are 5 hadiah to earn in this category so far:
1. Tourist: “ You've visited fanpop 5 days in a row! You're just starting to fly.” This topi can be earned oleh visiting fanpop 5 days in a row.
2. Sightseer: “You've visited fanpop 10 days in a row! Let's get anda in a real plane.” This topi can be earned oleh visiting fanpop 10 days in a row.
3. Traveler: “Wow! You've visited fanpop 20 days in a row. anda must like us! Time to upgrade that old thing with a private jet.” This topi can be earned oleh visiting fanpop 20 days in a row.
4. Jetsetter: "Holy cow! You've come to fanpop 50 days in a row! You're totally addicted. Time for a jumbo jet for anda and all your fans." This topi can be earned oleh visiting fanpop 50 days in a row.
5. Globetrotter: "Visit fanpop 100 days in a row." This topi can be earned oleh visiting fanpop 100 days in a row.

4c. Holidays
There are 6 hadiah to earn in this category so far:
1. Valentine's hari 2011: “Will anda be our Valentine?” This topi was earned oleh everyone who visited fanpop on Februari 14th 2010, Valentine’s Day.
2. St. Patrick's hari 2011: "May the luck of the Irish be with anda today!" This topi was earned oleh everyone who visited fanpop on March 17th 2011, St. Patrick's Day.
3. April Fool's hari 2011: "Stay on your toes today!" This topi was earned oleh everyone who visited fanpop on April 1st 2011, April Fool's Day.
4. Earth hari 2011: "We've only got one, let's cherish it." This topi was earned oleh everyone who visited fanpop on April 22nd 2011, Earth hari 2011.
5. Easter 2011: "Time to go find those eggs!" This topi was earned oleh everyone who visited fanpop on April 24th, Easter 2011.
6. Happy Birthday 2011: "It's your birthday! We're honored that anda chose to spend part of it with us so here's to you!" This topi can be earned oleh visiting fanpop on the hari anda registered as your birthday in anda account. This hadiah was introduced in April, so birthdays before that were not rewarded with this cap.

Caps in the "Holidays" catagory

4d. Good Luck Charms
There are 7 hadiah to earn in this category so far:
1.Gold Coin: “There's luck on both sides of this coin!”
2.Wishbone: “May it break your way!”
3.Ladybug: “Looks like ladybug luck is on your side!”
4.Rainbow: “What's at the end of it?”
5.Shooting Star: “When anda wish upon a star...”
6. Pot of Gold: "Enjoy this pot of emas before the Leprechaun realizes it's missing!"
7. Horseshoe: "Point the ends up!"
All the hadiah is this category are diberikan randomly. There is nothing anda can do to earn them. Just spend time on Fanpop, and anda might just be rewarded with one of these.

4e. Experience
There are 5 hadiah to earn in this category so far:
1. Novice: “You've been a member of fanpop for a month! You'll be a pro in no time!” This topi can be earned oleh being a member of fanpop for one month.
2. Learner: “You've been a Fanpopper for a tahun now! Time to ride with the big boys!” This topi can be earned oleh being a member of fanpop for one year.
3. Veteran: “It's been 2 years since you've joined Fanpop! No lebih bikes for you, you're cruising now.” This topi can be earned oleh being a member of fanpop for two years.
4. Expert: “Three whole years as a Fanpopper! anda are clearly ready for your license to Fanpop.” This topi can be earned oleh being a member of fanpop for three years.
5. Master: “Can anda believe anda joined fanpop four years ago?! Here's a bigger ride for anda and all your fan to cruise the site in.” This topi can be earned oleh being a member of fanpop for four years.

Caps in the "Experience" catagory

Simmeh I'm visiting Fanpop today, but how do I get the Saint Patrick's Day Cap? I visited here on Christmas and The New Year and never received a Cap those days, either. It doesn't really matter... but I don't understand why I'm not getting any. I used to get them...

Does Fanpop still give any holiday caps away to new users like me, or are they only for the users who are on Fanpop for much longer time than me? I got my Christmas cap in January. OK, everybody, let's all just take some deep breaths. I've been looking at komentar within the last half jam about the new fanpop layout that has thrown all of us for a loop.

There was a similar outcry of disbelief over, what I am choosing to call, the link. I am here menulis this to gather everyone's collective panic and misgivings into one place, as well as to try and look at the positives of these baru saja changes, in an attempt to placate some of your fears.

First of all, let's get the obvious out of the way. AH! OMIGAWD! fanpop LOOKS WEIRD AND IS ALL DIFFERENT! It's like facebook and YouTube...

Ah props. They used to be a way to acknowledge on a peer to peer level that someone has diposting something good. Back in my hari we used to give pujian if someone diposting a good video, atau berkata something intelligent but now they're thrown out like...condoms in high schools? *shrugs*

What are props?
Props are small medali that anda can give to other users if anda see them post something good.
eg; User_X posts a good video, User_Y gives User_X a video prop!

How can I give someone a prop?
You can give users pujian oleh going to their profil and clicking on the "Give Props" button, then type them a short message...

Hi everyone,

I’m menulis this artikel because I believe the new dinding system has real potential of improving the way people use the props. I realize that not all fanpoppers will follow my advize, but I still feel the urge to write this.

I’ve been on fanpop for quite some time now, and I’ve received and diberikan quite a few props. However, only a small amound of the pujian I received were ‘real props’. To clarify: oleh ‘real props’ I mean pujian received for actual content I’ve submitted. All the other pujian were ‘thanks for being a fan – props’ atau ‘happy whatever hari anda came...

Recently i finally found how to screencap a page on the internet. I had been looking for ages and finally i found out how to.Naturally i was very pleased and was waiting for a chance to use it.

My Joy was short lived

Days went by,days turned into weeks and after a bulan and a half i found nothing. For the times i had been on fanpop i had read the funniest, silliest things in spots and now that i could finally share them ,everyone became sensible?

This is a little game I made up just because I was bored. I enjoy it, so I figured I’d share it.
Just a warning: This game is only fun if there’s a spot you’ve added a lot of gambar to, but enough have been added oleh other people to make it challenging.

So, the object of the game is to... get lots of points? And to encourage proper image etiquette.

Be sure to keep something handy to keep track of your points! (Paper and pencil, blank word document, calculator, etc.)

fanpop User Identification Guide: Part 1 and 1/2

The Fanwhore: Have anda ever been added oleh someone, and then when anda went to their profil to possibly add them back, saw only posts with things like "Thanks for the add!" as far as the eye could see? Congrats, you've just met a Fanwhore. This person is pretty much just obsessed with getting fans. They can spend hours adding people, and will usually add back anyone who adds them. They tend to have obscenely large numbers of fans, and to get them obscenely fast. Can go ballistic if they haven't gained at least five new fan in the last hour.
Also, some Fanwhores tend to reform after a while,...

Spoiler picks don't have to ruin the fun for everyone

Nobody likes it when others ruin their fun oleh telling them the end of the story. Some people just aren't as caught up with others because they're busy atau haven't gotten around to it. Whether it's your favorit TV tampil and you're a few episodes behind atau a book that anda haven't read yet, the last thing anda want is for someone to tell anda what happens. Spoilers can ruin the fun for everyone else and the last thing we want to do is take the fun out of your favorit stuff.

A lot of users were unhappy when fan were making picks that were spoilers during the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly...

Lately I have noticed a swell in the amount of inappropriate comments. komentar that have sexual innuendo, are hurtful, atau are just plain gross, and most of the time they have nothing to do with the topic at hand. What I fail to grasp is why people feel like they need to do this. I can't understand why they can't control themselves and write something appropriate atau nothing at all. Is it a lack of sense of humor? Do they not realize that people spend a lot of time contributing to this site and a komentar like that can make all their efforts feel wasted? atau do they not...
