INGREDIENTS
2 tbsp. butter
3 Granny Smith apples, finely chopped
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1/2 tbsp. ground nutmeg
1 tbsp. cornstarch
jus of 1/2 lemon
All-purpose flour, for work surface
2 refrigerated pie crusts (such as Pillsbury)
1 c. karamel (warmed in microwave to make spreadable, if necessary)
Egg wash, for brushing
2 tbsp. cinnamon sugar, for sprinkling

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375° and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Make apel, apple pie filling: In a large pot over medium heat, melt butter. Add apples and cook until beginning to soften, then add sugars, cinnamon, and nutmeg and stir. Let cook a few menit more, then add cornstarch and lemon juice. Remove from heat and let slightly cool.
Roll out refrigerated pie crusts on a floured work surface. Slice one into long, 1/2" thick lattice strips. Set aside.
Spread the detik pie crust with caramel, then puncak, atas with apel, apple pie filling. puncak, atas half the lattice strips going one direction, then the remaining half going the other direction.
Use a cookie atau biskuit cutter to cut small rounds. Transfer to parchment-lined baking sheet and discard scraps.
Brush kue, cookie with egg wash and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
Bake until golden brown, 28 to 30 minutes.

1/4 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. kosher salt
3/4 c. low-fat small-curd cottage cheese
4 tbsp. chilled unsalted butter, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
FILLING
1 lb. Granny Smith apples
1/4 c. granulated sugar
2 tbsp. unsalted butter
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
4 tbsp. water
1 tbsp. cornstarch
Vegatable atau canola oil for frying (optional)

1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. cornstarch
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon
Pinch kosher salt
2 (14-oz. packages) refrigerated pie crusts
2 Eggs, beaten
2 tbsp. Sanding sugar
Caramel, for serving

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, squeeze lemon jus on apples to keep them from browning.
In a medium sauce pan over medium heat, combine water with brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, vanilla and kosher salt. Whisk until fully combined.
