Barbie in the Nutcracker is based on The Nutcracker - a Russian ballet originally choreographed oleh Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov with a score oleh Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (op. 71). The ballet was based on The Nutcracker and the mouse King - a story oleh German Romantic penulis E. T. A. Hoffmann.
