Prom is overrated and not a big deal
Not everyone goes to college
Marriages aren’t for everyone
Everyone is born

The last two are of no interest to me at all. Especially having kids. Prom was fun but not important. So graduation for me.

I'd say in general people are most excited about marriages and babies tho.

@uploated900 if you're a high school senior, then yes it is a big deal. It's just something to, like, cherish your moment as a senior and a special night for seniors since they're gonna graduate out of their school years. So yes it is. Believe me, I know. My prom was great

Given all of these happen for someone, I would say marriage and birth of child as they are the most impactful ones on someones life I feel.

Personally I believe prom is super overrated

Graduations are long, and boring
Proms are unnecessary
Weddings aren’t actually needed to be with someone you love
Births are OK, but I don’t really care that much.
But I do love birthdays. Free cake, and gifts. But my fav is the cake.

You’d think I wouldn't like Birthday, due to technically getting older... but I tend to overlook that, and just enjoy it.

I actually changed my answer cos all of these are subjective celebratory dates that don't actually change anything much at all and you could not celebrate any of them and have a relatively same life, but a birth of a baby actually changes ones life quite a bit and if you don't have a baby your life is much more different than if you did which can't be said about the others. You could decide to not walk and celebrate your graduation but still get your diploma and youll still be good. You can decide to not have a wedding and you can still be married or even just in love. Prom night is super insignificant imo. And birthdays can be easily ignored

^Agree. Birth of a child can drastically change your life. You have significant amount of control in other situations where you can choose to ignore or celebrate them but having a baby can change your whole routine and priorities wether you want it or not.

@riku you may be absolutely right. I see your point, prom, graduation, and weddings are all optional. But missing them is also very regretful as you get older into middle age. One might think "I should've walked across the stage at graduation. I should've been there" or "I wish I'd went to my prom" or "I would like to have a wedding" and stuff like that. But as we all know, life is full of choices. And having a baby is very optional. Yes becoming a parent is precious and cherishing but its also very hard. A parent's work is never easy. But it is worth it. Don't get me wrong

^It's been years since I was a senior in HS and I have no regrets. I'm glad I didn't know For some people it's not important and some people don't even want to go to it, especially if they're shy.
