I was in the same perahu as anda when I first started watching BNHA- I could not STAND Bakugou, because at first he seemed like nothing but a selfish, heartless jerk... but I’ve always been open to the possibility of him getting better character development later on, and slowly but surely, that has definitely happened! I warmed up to him the most in season 3, as that’s when he gets the best character development he’s had so far(in the anime anyway, I dunno about the komik jepang cuz I haven’t read it) We learn a bit lebih about him and his motivations, and we see him start to become close friends with Kirishima... and through that friendship we learn that underneath the many, MANY layers of anger is a guy who cares a lot about his best friend ^u^ Ep. 50 also gives us some insight into his halaman awal life and why he may have turned out the way he did- his mom is, uhhh... not my idea of a likeable character ^^; I started to sympathize with him a bit lebih after that ep, but ep. 61... oh man, ep. 61 is the episode that made me cinta Bakugou! We really get a good look inside the poor guy’s head- his feelings of inferiority, the intense amount of guilt he’s been harboring over All Might, it all comes out here and I was hit with the FEELS! And at the end, his relationship with Izuku, while not completely mended oleh any means, is definitely on its way there, and I thought it was a pretty satisfying ending secara keseluruhan, keseluruhan :) There are many lebih analyses out there that are a hundred times lebih coherent than mine, but that’s basically why I like Bakugou- while he still has a LOT to work on, I’m proud of how far he’s come since season 1, and I actually consider him to be one of my favorit characters now ^u^ He’s a really interesting and complex character, and I hope anda enjoy watching him grow as much as I have! :)

![There is actually a reason why he's mean to Deku. It doesn't excuse the behavior, but it explains it. He [i]does[/i] have empathy, the most famous example being when he has a mental breakdown over the fact that he was the cause of All Might's retirement (notice how he only blamed [i]himself[/i] and not Deku, the one who technically "took" All Might's power from him, which Bakugou had deduced oleh that point in the story. I think that speaks volumes about his character). His ego has an explanation as well. People also like angry characters all the time, not sure why you're confused about this specific one. Bakugou is a complex character. Of course he had fangirls with his angry demeanor since hari 1, but his fanbase has only grown since the beginning of the series. He placed #3 in the manga's first popularity poling and has been #1 in the selanjutnya 3 because yes, slowly but surely he [i]is[/i] maturing and the audience, especially the Japanese audience (who partakes in these polls) fking loves that. He was never a cardboard cut-out mean character that hates everyone and will inevitably become the antagonist. He's unique, and fan have picked up on that. Since the very beginning Bakugou has been adamant about becoming a hero, [i]not[/i] a villain; he refused to gabung the League of Villains and didn't even bother getting on their good side, after all. He doesn't accept a win if it wasn't a fair fight, and he respects his opponents (and demands them to respect him in turn, leading to angry outbursts when this doesn't happen). Despite his personality he's always had a decent moral compass, and it's been growing clearer the lebih his character develops. He's slowly learning to cooperate with teammates, he's shown lebih respect for Deku, and he's becoming aware of his own flaws.
