I groaned. Where was I? What was happening? Why did my arm hurt so much? I stopped for a moment to take in my actual surroundings. It was still the same warehouse from before, I realized. Wait, this one was different, maybe another one? But I was tied to something. It was one of the many pillars that stood through the building. Wait, where was Robin? I looked around as much as the chains restraining me allowed. Nothing. I tried to pick the lock but then felt another pair of hands almost touching mine, but they were motionless. I almost screamed when I felt it. After processing this in my mind, I realized it was Robin. "Oh, crap! Robin, please don't be dead!" I whispered under my breath.
Forgetting about the com link, Artemis's voice startled me, "Echo! Oh my god! Where are you? What happened? Are Robin and anda ok?" On puncak, atas of Artemis's voice another one came, this time from Kid Flash, "What the heck happened? I heard screaming and..." The voices from each team member piled on puncak, atas of one another. "Guys!" I demanded. "I think we're fine. There were these people, they had some sort of sinar, ray gun atau something. I don't know exactly where we are, but some kind of warehouse. I wasn't awake when they brought me here. Robin, is, *sigh* I don't know. I guess he's unconscious. But-" I heard footsteps and immediately shut my mouth. "Echo? Echo? Whats wrong? Hello?" The voices kept asking, but I couldn't say anything and blow our chances at getting out of here. Out of the dark, a man and a woman emerged. I gasped when I realized who the man was. Rick.
The woman raised an eyebrow. "And who are you?" She asked with a intrigued tone, like she wasn't in the mood for this. Don't say anything, I kept warning myself. She walked up to me and put a tight hand on my shoulder and squeezed with all her might. I cringed, but remained silent. She brought her face close to mine. "Answer me. Who. Are. You. And Where. Is. The. Crystal?" She berkata in a rough tone. She was so close that I could almost feel the breath on my face.
And as if my worst nightmare had came true, she seemed to have heard the voices on my ear com. "Are those your little friends?" She was facing Rick, the man with her. So I wasn't sure if the pertanyaan was directed toward me. She moved closer and put her red lips close to the com. "Listen, bring the crystal to the old shoe factory on Shakespere Ave. Tonight, at 12. Come alone. If not, I will kill both of your little friends." She took the com out of my ear and smiled triumphantly.
"No! Don't do it!" I blurted out. "It's a tr-" I was going to say trap, but was cut off when the lady slapped me hard across the face. "Watch your manners." She berkata calmly to me, like she didn't just do that. "And I'll start oleh killing the rude little girl first." She whispered maliciously into the com. Then threw it to the ground and stepped on it, shattering it into a hundred tiny pieces. My face burned and stung. I struggled to get out.
I looked at Rick, how did he know? How did he find out? How could he betray me like that? A smile started to form at the edge of his lips. The lady had blonde hair, like mine, and brown eyes. She was wearing a black latex catsuit and red lipstick.
Sitting down at a nearby round meja in a chair, she said, "The name's Cheri, oleh the way." I groaned quietly, she gave me a sharp look. "Don't worry, this will all be over soon. Your friends will come and give me the crystal, only to find out that anda two are already dead. Then, using the power from the crystal, I'll kill them also. Simple as that." She smiled over at me. I pointlessly struggled again. Cheri looked at a holo-watch, revealing the time as 11:50 pm. She hopped off the chair and said, "Oops! Time to go!" She started to head toward the door, before leaving she said, "Rick, feel free to kill them. Make sure they feel pain." And walked off, closing the door behind her.
He gave a slight nod and walked over to me, pulling out some sort of small device. I looked at him with pleading eyes and said, "Why?" That was all I could get out before he put the device to my arm and pressed a button. I screamed. The pain was almost unbearable. My head hurt, my chest hurt, everything hurt. But I didn't mind that. I was worried about Robin. I wasn't even sure he was alive.
In almost a second, a shadow covered Rick, and he was blown to the ground, unconscious. The team was standing there. All except Artemis. "Where's Artemis?" I gasped. Kid Flash started to get the chains off, but it would take a while. "We had to have someone give the person the crystal. But if we did, we still wouldn't have the complete assurance that anda guys were still alive." Superboy said. "Got that right." I answered back. Kid Flash groaned, "They're 2 separate chains." "Don't worry about me for now. Get Robin out!" He reluctantly nodded, then undid Robin. Before he could get to me, the door burst open. "Megan! Do your powers work?" I asked quickly. She shook her head. "The building is lined with something, its like something is blocking my powers!" Superboy luged toward the figure in the door. "Ok! Get Robin. Make sure he's ok!" I berkata quickly. She ran over to Robin and switched places with K.F. Superboy was thrown back, Kid Flash ran up the figure after him. Superboy was unconscious, probably the thing that hit him was kryptonite.
I guess K.F kicked a gun to the ceiling, because a shot was fired and it hit the puncak, atas of the pillar, causing it to start to fall. It wasn't a good thing, because I was still chained to it. Kid Flash was thrown back also. Another shot of blue-green light was also fired, similar to the kind that hit me. Miss M fell back. I struggled to get out as much as I could. It was Cheri, the lady from before. She frowned at me, "I told you. I would kill your friends. She raised the gun and pointed it at Superboy, who was starting to wake up. In that instant, I realized she was actually going to kill them.
