"What did anda do to them?!" I demanded. Kid Flash and Artimus were knocked out, unaware that they were about to be shot.
The tall clown grinned. "We found these rats out back, tryin' to disable the alarm system. The others got away before we could get them."
Superboy! Could anda hear me? I thought as loud as I could.
"Kind of busy over here!" he replied mentally.
Crap. Now what?
I looked around for things to bend. I was out of luck, for there was no water here.
"Now, let us handcuff you, and we'll take all of anda to the boss," purred the short and fat man.
I sighed and put my hands out. They handcuffed them together, not knowing that any time I could break out of it, but their guns were still pointed at the two people below.
He pushed me up the stairs where Superboy had gone, and into a large room with dynamites diposting everywhere anda look.
"Hey boss! Look at the garbage we picked up!" called the tall clown. He prodded me down to the floor.
Superboy fell to the floor after being punched oleh the Joker.
Superboy rumbled and yelled at the clown.
"Superboy, STOP! KF AND ARTIMUS!" I screamed at him, looking at the two.
He didn't seem to like it when I yelled at him, but listened.
Joker laughed hysterically. "Ah, a new member of the girl scouts!" he spun his cane and whacked me in the face, causing a nose bleed.
"OW!" I cried. "What the F***!!!"
His teeth gleamed in the light. "Ooh, a cusser. I wonder what the boy in blue would say!" he hit me with it again.
I groaned in agony, while Superboy stared in horror.
Hang in there, Erica! He thought frantically.
What else could I do? I managed to think.
"Kill that one first, Boom!" ordered Joker, pointing at me.
"Gladly," the fat one uttered, and I could feel the cool touch of the gun against my head. He pulled the trigger, and BOOM!
The bullet bounced off my head.
"What the--" he keeled backward, but I broke out of my handcuffs and punched him across the room.
At last, Aqualad, Megan, and Robin crashed through the glass window and landed on Joker.
The tall clown pointed his gun at KF and Artimus, but Superboy intervened at once.
Joker cackled and reached into his pocket. "You brats were too late..." and he pushed the big red button.
All at once, the dynamite tickers turned on, at we had only five detik left.
"Erica and Superboy, get KF and Artimus, NOW!" Aqualad ordered.
I got on my feet and grabbed Artimus and flew out with Superboy and KF holding onto my feet.
Megan telepathically held Aqualad and Robin, and we all flew out of the building just in time.
The last I heard was the laughter of the Joker.

"You were supposed to run a covert mission!" batman yelled in disapproval, back at Mount Justice. He distinctly looked at me and Superboy, who were the ones who ruined the mission.
"If we didn't barge in, the weaponry wouldn't have been found." I tried to keep my cool, because my mother always berkata it was impolite to yell at adults.
He took a deep breath, then let it out. "I know anda were, Erica, and I'm impressed that for a first-timer, anda did pretty well."
I smiled, then grunted and held my nose. That stupid clown broke the one thing I needed the most.
batman flinched, and said, "Dismissed." He walked away.
"What's wrong with him?" I asked Robin, who looked as uncomfortable as his mentor.
He rubbed his neck awkwardly. "An jam ago, when Black Canary was bandaging your nose, we told batman how Joker was beating anda with his cane. I guessed that reminded him of..." his voice trailed off, looking away.
I took his hand. "Reminded him of what?"
Robin bit his lip. "Of the detik Robin, Jason Todd. He died oleh Joker beating him with a crowbar, then being exploded oleh dynamite."
"Just like last night," I whispered.
He nodded.
Megan put her hand on my shoulder. "I guess he was relieved that anda didn't the die like Jason did."
I guess I was wrong about batman after all. I would've never guessed he actually had feelings.

Wow, I learned a LOT today.
