How can I make my male characters sound lebih male?

I'm a female, so I sometimes wonder if I have a hard time really relating to male characters when I write. I've seen other female writers have trouble in this area and it's annoyed me, and I want to be accurate as possible.

For example, my character, Max Gallagher, is currently in somewhat of an "angsty" situation in the story I'm writing, but I don't want him to sound that way when he's responding to it with things he says and thinks.

(I'll also provide a link in the link area for anyone who's interested in checking the story out.)

Maybe anda could relate the way they talk to the way guys talk. I know how anda feel, I'm a writer and I struggle with the same things. Hope this helps!

It's a tough pertanyaan to answer, because like girls, not all guys are the same. But if you're looking to make him sound lebih masculine, try having him get a little defensive about the way he's thinking and talking. Like, if he's having all these angsty feelings and getting emotional, a guy who prides himself in being tough and masculine might get embarrassed that he's 'acting like a girl,' and try to snap himself out of it (although ultimately this will probably only make him fall further into his feelings).

If the story is written from his point of view and the reader can see his thoughts, anda could definitely have him getting mad at himself for the way he's thinking. And, if he's talking to someone (or lebih than likely they're trying to talk to him), I'd think he'd give extremely short and irritable replies, one word answers, etc... and he probably wouldn't go to anyone for help with his problems; at least not for a while. He'd try to figure it out for himself.

Having berkata that, I want to stress that there is not one single way a guy has to behave in order to act masculine. What I berkata above was just a generalization of a typical way to depict a brooding male.

I would cinta to check the story out! Plz send a link. Uh, i have also struggled with making male characters sound male. I guess its something all us girls struggle with. But Ive learned to try and observe other guys actions and words and try to relate it to your character. Ive found that kind of helpful. And think of the way us girls would respond and change it a little to seem a little bolder and lebih "effective" in a way.
I hope this helps...
