Nah, not really. membaca does help anda become a better penulis though as anda can get a feel for different sentence structure, styles, descriptions, etc. But anda don't have to read something every time anda write.
If menulis is something anda want to pursue, whether personally atau professionally, then yes. To become good at writing, anda must read and notice the author's style. This is the only way I've improved in my writing. If I had never read as much as I did, I would not have improved my menulis to the point it is at today. As they say, it is important to read as much as anda write.
Of course, anda can always have someone read and critique your work; however, anda won't gain the same amount of knowledge this way, nor as fast. If membaca isn't something you're into, then I suggest finding buku that will really interest you. Think of genres anda like and look up some populer novels on it.
If anda want even lebih help, think of what fan fictions anda might be interested in and read some. Don't just read them, though, mentally critique them. Critiquing other's works will help anda critique your own.
