She was scrubbing the floor of the bathroom when the doorbell rang. I didn't see her having any visitors, how could I have missed this. At first I had thought I had died. The blackness I had so helplessly succumbed was a relief to me. The pain left my arm and I didn’t feel so drained of energy. I actually felt slightly happy that I wasn’t awake anymore. I couldn’t hear anything, see anything atau feel anything and it didn’t worry me. It was peaceful. I didn’t know how long that this peaceful silence lasted before sounds started to crash down on me. I could hear conversations, TVs, cars and radios. They pounded down on my ears and all I wanted to do was find the mute button and stop it. Then my sense of touch returned....

This is a short piece that I wrote for the contest, but apparently it's not going to be happening, so I decided to post it anyways.
