series twilight Article: Movie Nothing Like the Book?

Okay, I've been hearing and membaca a lot about how the movie isn't going to be anything like the book and whatnot.

SHUT UP! Sorry, but is that explicit enough?

Everything, from I've seen so far, looks perfect. Yeah,I know, there are things that they've added, some scenes are missing and some of the characters aren't even in the movie. But what are anda going to do about it? The movie is BASED ON the book. So there are defiantly going to be some changes, mainly so that the movie will actually make sense. Because, let's think about it. Twilight is all in Bella's perspective. It takes about three chapters to describe one emotion that she's going through. The book is also mainly taking place all in her head, so they kind of have to add some scenes and whatnot to make it lebih interesting.

Now, if you're one of those people that has looked at all the pictures, watched all the video pertaining to Twilight and sat there saying, "that wasn't in the movie," atau "the Cullen's house supposed to be white," atau "Edward didn't leave Bella on the ground after the car crash," etc...Then I highly suggest that anda should not see this movie (you're going to be bugging the hell out of whoever you're sitting selanjutnya to). Like I berkata before, everything that they've changed atau took out, is part of the MOVIE and NOT THE BOOK. I mean, come on, trying to bring a book like Twilight to life is harder than it sounds. They've tried they're best and they pulled it off nicely.

Just think of it this way, Stephanie Meyer herself has been there throughout the whole filming process. If Stephanie says so herself that the actors have done an amazing job and that the movie is great, then anda better take her word for it. I have no doubt that Catherine, the actors and the rest of the crew, have done their best to do this book justice.

Did any of that make sense. It tends to only make sense to me and when I write it...not so much. What do anda think?

1treehillfan I think that you are right, the book is definitely absolutely nothing like the book, but I'm still extremely excited to see it. I do not care that it is different from the book, and your explanations are correct... I mean, it's difficult (as Kristen says) translating such a complex, descriptive novel into movie form. But I think you are wrong about the complaints. I can understand why people would be a bit skeptical about what they see in the trailers and the movie clips because the expectations are so high, and I must warn you all now- if you have really high expectations, I can tell you right now that the movie is not going to live up to them. I like to think of the movie and the book as two completely different projects, that way the movie doesn't ruin what I feel the book is. I think of it as "Robert and Kirsten" and "Bella and Edward"- two very different couples that share the same situation and the same passionate love. Making sense? I think people that have strong skepticism about the book relating to the movie should follow my suggestion. That way, the differences from the book won't effect your view on the movie- which probably will be so well coreographed and acted it will blow us all away. Because, lets face it, OF COURSE they're are going to be differences. Look at the Harry Potter movies! For example, I always pictured Edward with a british accent, and Robert tried to have an american accent (which I must say is very velvet and gorgeous and practically flawless, but I prefer his british accent). And I pictured the ballet room differently, etc. etc. But, we all pictured different things when we read the book, which is why we must not criticize too much because we all pictured different things when we read the book, and they are trying to bring it to life- it's not going to look exactly like we all pictured it- that's impossible Anyways, the movie looks astounding (especially with beautiful Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart<3). My only disagreement with this article is that I believe people have a right to their opinion, and we can't know anything for sure until the movie is finished... then we can start critiquing. But over all, I pretty much agree with you.

SaveMe620 I agree with you. People did have their own way of picturing things and that's what I'm saying though. This is Catherine's way of seeing the book. Of course it's not going to be like the way most people pictured it. But people are critiquing the movie just based on what they've seen so far, sating it looks nothing like the book and that just drives me insane. From what I've seen it totally looks like the book and, like Harry Potter, there's just so much of a book to put into a movie. I know people have their own opinions, but sometimes people's opinions annoy me. Like I was reading comments on the Trailer Park myspace page and people kept saying that everything looked wrong. I'm just sitting here saying, "have you not read the books or something? It totally looks like Twilight to me." Really? I never pictured Edward with a british accent. And I think Robert has done such a great job with his American accent (though I like his british more).

1treehillfan ^^ I don't know, with the way Bella describes his voice, I always picture a beautiful voice being british... haha<3 And your right, Robert's american accent is flawless, and I love him as Edward. And they are doing great with having it be the same as Twilight, all I'm saying is I can understand how fans would be dissapointed with the way the trailer looks. That's all. :)

chrisy018 It can't be exactly the same or it would be a 10 hour movie! Since no one has seen it yet I don't know why everyone is getting in an uproar about it!

yesitsLorLor I totally agree. You can't make the film excatly like the book. But you are right, SM was there everyday on set telling them what their limits were to the movie and so far from what i've seen in interviews and trailers, it seems like the film will be pretty accurate to the book. SM and the director worked very hard for this to turn out right, and it is. People can be so critical when it comes to the films devolpment from book to film; but im sure as heck that Twilight will be more book accurate then harry potter and their films. Really, in the end, who knows what Twilight outcome will be until we see it. But honestly, if the director followed the book - which she did, the movie will be great, just because it will be the book turning into life. if we love the book and what it holds, we will love the film. Fingers Crossed.

angy7sdg alright i think that.. the movie it doesn't have to be exactly like the book.. cuz that never gonna happen...!! i don't mind if the change a a couple of scenes.. they are making a great job for this movie... and is going to be great!
