I adore all of the songs, but the intensity of this one really pulls heartstrings- which is good, considering it's at the very beginning of the film, and it tells the story really well.

Undoubtly. Best way ever to show the pleagues and the difference between Pharaoh and 'Slave', Egyptian and Jew, the difference between the two brothers. They loved each other but now all is gone and Rameses isn't willing to change because he doesn't think he's doing the wrong thing. Really powerfull lines. Especially when the chorus say about God and Rameses and Moses sing I will not/let your/my people go. Then, I'd chose all I ever wanted, then deliver us. Then look through heaven eyes, then when you believe (i don't like it as much as the other songs) and then playing with the big boys. I love all the songs, though.
