I actually started reading the first book ( first chapter) before there was the movie.... I just didn't finish it because I had so much to do, so I put the book aside.... Once the trailer was published, I remembered that I had started the series a while back and decided to try to read the series again.... I wish I had read them sooner! :)

I think I read the first book about a year or so after it was first published. I only recently finished the last book though. I was avoiding it because I didn't want to be disappointed with the conclusion of the series. I shouldn't have waited so long because it far surpassed my expectations.

I heard about the series before they decided to make the movie and I thought it sounded interesting but then I forgot about it. Then I heard about the movie and everyone was making such a big deal about it that I realized I wanted to go see it. But then I figured I'd better read the books first and I'm glad I did.

I had heard about them before the movie! But when the movie had just came out my friend told me to read them!

i had to read them 2 summers ago for my english class.. i was realy annoyed that they were making me read a book over the summer but it turned out to be my favorite book EVER!

I read it a year ago after it was announced there was gonna be a movie & magazines were saying it was the next Twilight/Harry Potter franchise so I decided to check it out. However, it was before all the real hype and right before all the actors were cast and everything.

I got it as a Christmas present in 2010 from my sister because she was going to leave her school and she wanted someone to talk to about The Hunger Games.
I never heard of the movie then, but almost everyone read it after...because it got popular in my school.

I constantly was receiving some e-mails from MTV and it's not like I'm going to MTV's site any days, but I had that newsletter and there was "The Hunger Games" all over the place. After I saw Jennifer in X: FC I thought I would give the books a try not only because she plays her but because of the positive reviews and interesting synopsis. It was worth a shot (as if Arthur from "Inception" would have said hahaha).

I read it before I heard that there was going to be a movie. It was like I had just finished reading Mockingjay and then a few months later it was like, "Bam! There's going to be a movie!"
So of course I was super excited.

I knew about it and had it on my list of books to read long before there was going to be a movie and I just recently got to it, lol. It wasn't even a long list either...freaking college. Gah.

i always heard they were good so one day i saw the box set REALLY cheap and my friends kept telling me to read it and i did and i loved it.

I'm ashamed to say I did, but the fact that I read the series 3 times over before the trailer even came out and I still re-read it, I hope I'm forgiven ;) xx

I was hearing about it in the middle of last year but I didn't want to read it (cuz i had no idea what it was about and hadn't heard about the movie). Then my brother had to read it for school and i was like OMG HE'S READING A BOOK! I knew it had to be pretty good n he told me to read it and i became addicted!!!! Thank goodness he had 2 read it or I would've missed out big-time!! ;-)

I had been planning to read them for a looong time then I heard there would be a movie! I always like reading the book before the movie so it motivated me to start reading.

Only by like a year or so.
