Even though I did struggle with this game as a kid when trying to conquer it for the first time, I had a harder time with the other two. Even now when I play them, I can zip through Ripto's Rage faster than the others. I also think maybe because there are only 3 home worlds it might be easier and takes less time... idk. But yeah, I know people say Year of the Dragon is the easiest, but honestly I beg to differ. It took years for me to figure out how to get all the gems/eggs.

I think the first game is by far the hardest (to completely conquer, not just beat Gnasty Gnorc). I never could figure it out as a kid, and if it weren't for Youtube, I still wouldn't have been able to. It requires the most logic and "putting the puzzle together" IMO. Especially Tree Tops... oh gawsh, thank you Youtube.

Although I really do love the level design overall for Ripto's Rage, I don't think the gems are as well hidden as they are in the other games. I don't recall ever puzzling over trying to find any secrets as I did with the other games.

I definitely think the first game was the hardest. Not only due to where certain things were hidden (totally agree about Tree Tops - yikes!) but it seemed like it was easier to get yourself hurt on that game. I have a lot of memories of doing very stupid things on that game that ended up costing me a few lives when I really shouldn't have been held back by it at all. Of course, that could also be down to my own lack of skill! But falling down bottomless holes and accidentally running into a monster definitely doesn't happen to me anywhere near as much in the other 2 games.

I agree. I think the only reason it took my so long to get all the gems/orbs on this game was because I was 9/10 at the time. :P

The first game is still challenging for me, even though I've played it quite a few times this past year.

I definitely think this one is the easiest. Everything is pretty straightforward, and it's the first one I had ever beaten, at the age of 7 or so. The original Spyro comes next, it's only slightly more difficult. And the only reason it's hard at all is because of Tree Tops, that last jump is like impossible... The third is the hardest in my eyes. There are multiple characters you have to master, Fireworks Factory is super tricky, and that final skateboard level is really hard...

I've only done half of the game, but I've only died once! I think it's the easiest because it really grabs my attention and I liked to take it slowly. On the others, I guess I rushed it. I found the first one the hardest because of how many levels there were so I got confused where I was >.>

@thespikedturtle: You beat it when you were 7? Dang. I started playing when I was like 9 or 10 and it took years for me to figure it out... lol. O_o I thought all of the original was hard, not just Tree Tops.

@X-Squirt-X: Agreed on the original. Since there were enemies in the home worlds as well I sometimes couldn't figure out if I was in a realm or not when I was a kid. o_e
