at first I didn't really like Riley but then, watching season 4 and 5 over and over again, I realized that he's not all bad. I'm not saying he's my favorite character or even on the list of my top 15 but I've definitely grown fond of him :D having said that, he was just awful in that one episode in season 6 :/

Ough, I hate hate HATE him in season 6 :S

He was better in Season 4, because he was not annoying, crazy, and not so irrated by Buffy not being around him. However in Season 5, he was the worst, having vamps bit to make him feel that the vampire would devour him.. God thats so disgusting... Ewww... Also Riley still doesn't understand that Buffy is the slayer and she is destined to save the world.

But... in Season 6 his performances has change to make Buffy realize what she done with herself with Spike. That Spike is the same badass vampire, who has the crazy obsession over her. So Riley was giving Buffy's calling as the slayer and Spike's calling as vampire with a crazy chip that makes him have feelings for Buffy..

Overall, Riley wasn't really a bad member but wasn't boyfriend material around Buffy..

Given that he only appeared once in S6 :P

I kinda liked him in S4 too - or rather, I could try to force myself to like him in S4, unlike S5 with all his jealousy and insecurity issues coming to the fore. Still disliked him from the start because I could guess that he'd be Buffy's new love interest.

I just HATE Riley full stop. He's just soooo annoying and I cheered when he left
