barbie in the Nutcracker is the first installment in the computer-animated barbie film series.
The film was written oleh Linda Engelsiepen, Hilary Hinkle and Rob Hudnut, and is loosely based on E.T.A Hoffman's classic story, The Nutcracker and the mouse King. The film follows Clara, a young orphan girl who has a dream of going to a land named Parthenia and defeating an evil king.
The ballet in the film was motion-capture based, and choreographed oleh Peter Martins. The musik is oleh Arnie Roth, and the london Symphony Orchestra performed songs from Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker Suite".
