‘Reign’ season 3 spoilers: Meet some new characters!

The third season of “Reign” is not premiering on The CW until this fall, but you do not have to wait any longer to see what the writers / producers have in store … at least when it comes to some characters.

Let’s start here with what we think is the biggest news at this particular moment, and that is that we are in the midst of a surprising recasting. Per a report from SpoilerTV, the show is looking for a new actor to play Charles IX of France, suggesting that they are giving him a much larger role … which to us should be extremely interesting given that he is someone who can add to the royal drama in a huge way. Remember that the show is already planning to give Queen Elizabeth a larger role, and we are going to be shifting between settings more than ever.

As for new characters, the show is also casting Robert Dudley, a man who carries a secret past with Elizabeth, and also his wife Ann. While we cannot say for sure how big these roles will be, they will at least be people who play an important part at least early on in the season.

Ultimately, we would not be too stunned to see there be a variety of other new characters introduced, mostly because we feel like the writers / producers are going to want to populate this new part of the world with as many different new faces as possible.
