From the moment that Alison DiLaurentis wrote “Mrs. Rollins” on her classroom chalkboard,
fans have been speculating about the new man in her life. Is he good? Is he bad? Is he the new “A”?
Of course, those are questions that won’t be answered right away — this is
after all — but what we do know about Elliott Rollins is that he was Charlotte’s psychiatrist. Also, he’s played by Huw Collins, who promises that fans will get to know a lot more about Elliott in the next six episodes.
“I like my character. I think he’s a good guy,” Collins tells EW with a laugh, noting that
“I’ve done three things on the show: Hooked up Charlotte with a court date. Brilliant. Gone to court and sat there while they all went on. Great. And number three: Left Alison and Emily to have a little powwow alone in the bedroom. Like three things, all nice, and [fans are like], ‘You’re creepy.’ I cannot win. I could literally have set up an adoption center for kids and puppies and they’d be like, ‘You’re creepy,’ ” he says, laughing.
But in all seriousness, Collins says that as time goes on, fans will begin to see a very natural chemistry between Elliott and Alison. “It’s hard to put your finger on what they have at the minute,” he admits. “You haven’t seen much of it and there is a taboo around it. But it’s cool Alison to have this relationship. She’s had such a disrupted and crazy life up to now and I think it’s nice for her to have a bit of normal and a bit of someone who has their stuff together and can be there as support.”

In fact, what happened to Charlotte will be one of the events that bonds Elliott and Alison. “I think they both feel guilt, [and] I think their guilt collectively will bring them closer.”
As for who Elliott is on his own, Collins describes him as a workaholic who runs his own practice and is very good at his job. “He comes from fairly humble beginnings,” Collins says. “But humble beginnings in the sense that his family doesn’t come from much but have made much of themselves. And I think that that is reflected in his character. I think he’s a very hard-working person but he doesn’t take things for granted.”
And yes, he’s fully aware of the danger that comes with being in Alison DiLaurentis’ life. “People around Alison just seem to naturally turn to the devil,” Collins jokes. As for whether Elliott’s a bad guy, he simply says, “As the show progresses people will see my character for who he is.”
