 Reko Moreno
Reko Moreno
Latino actor REKO MORENO is anything but cursed. But, in the indie film “Bless Me, Ultima,” currently playing in theaters, Reko brings the cursed Uncle Lucas to life. The film is based on the best-selling novel oleh Rudolfo Anaya, first published in 1972 which has gone on to become the most widely read and critically acclaimed novel in Chicano literary history.

Reko first grabbed attention as the co-creator/ producer/ bintang of the action-comedy web series “Blanco Boys,” about the adventures of three bounty hunting Latino brothers in the barrio. This Houston, Texas native is back at it again creating a new comedy web series and working on a few other projects as well.

We recently had a chance to ask Reko about his current role in “Bless Me, Ultima” and more.

HOLLY: For those who haven’t seen the film yet, can anda tell us about your role in “Bless Me, Ultima”?

REKO: Yes, I play Tony's Uncle Lucas, the one who gets cursed oleh the daughters of Tenorio Trementina and has to be saved oleh the one and only Ultima.

HOLLY: Did anda feel any added pressure bringing this character to life since it’s based on such a well-known novel?

REKO: Being that this script was based on a novel, it actually made it easier for me to bring the character to life. membaca the book, gave me lebih insight into the character and the entire Luna Family. And knowing that I was working with Carl Franklin, I was certainly in aman, brankas hands, making sure I did the character justice.

HOLLY: Do anda believe in curses? Have anda ever felt cursed?

REKO: Um...not really. I've had bad luck and I've had good luck but I don't attribute any of it on curses. But, I do believe in ghosts.

HOLLY: Any interesting stories from the set that anda can share with us?

REKO: Yes, going back to my sebelumnya answer, I believe in ghosts, but can't say I've ever really seen one. Except maybe on-set one day, the set photographer was clicking away like always, after the scene was done, she came over to where we were sitting and showed us the latest pictures. In one of them, she caught the face of a person in the background but during the shoot, no one from our set was standing there. Nor could we recognize the face, so maybe I have seen a ghost.

HOLLY: You’re also working on your own project, can anda tell us about that?

REKO: I would cinta to tell anda about my own project: "Newlywed and Broke" is a sitcom about a newlywed couple that discovers the truth after getting married -- they're broke. To make ends meet, they have to get acak jobs off of Craigslist, sell all their wedding gifts, and worst of all get a roommate. The idea came to me after looking at my own life. I recently got engaged and to save money moved my fiancée in with me and my roommate. So, anda see, anda write about what anda know. A lot of people seem to be struggling during these economic times and I thought that maybe we could bring some laughter to their and our situation with this show. link

HOLLY: Anything else you’d like to share with readers?

REKO: I'd like to share two other projects I am very fortunate to be a part of. The first one is "Attack of the 30Ft Chola" and the other is "Hencemen"; both are projects my friends have been hard at work creating and bringing to life. The trailer for "Attack of the 30Ft Chola" is simply awesome; the director has done everything on this project oleh himself -- the guy even built a miniature town! link

"Henchmen" is a unique take on the good guy vs. bad guy storyline. I play a Henchman who discovers the truth about the Super Hero -- he isn't good at all. link

This movie is an amazing one! It combines two of my favorit things: Comedy and Zombies. The actors were great.

Jesse Einsenberg was amazing as Columbus. He had great facial expressions and amazing narrative skills, along with his character's rules like #1: Cardio and #32: Enjoy the little things. He was purely amazing as some wimpy college student who never opened up to the outside world.

Woody Harrelson is, in my opinion, what made this movie. His character zombie ass-kicker Tallahassee is tough, brave, and skilled. Although all this is true, we see lebih of a sadder side of Tallahassee. His...

I just cinta the fourth X-men movie. It explains so much about Logans past. I cry everytime I see Hugh in the movie nearly in tears when someone he loves atau cares about is killed. I just can't stand seeing men cry, but only true men cry. It twists around action and romance in such a great way. I cinta the part when he is on the motorcycle and he retracts his claws and shreds Striker's men car and it flips into the air and almost hits Zero. It's so cool when he blows up the helicopter in slow mo. It gives be goosebumps everytime I see him walk away with a serious face on him. It's so hot! It's berkata at the end when he gets his memory taken away from him and he doesn't remember the girl of his dreams and she dies right there on the spot after driving Striker away. It was also a good idea to make Sabertooth, Wolverine's bro. That made the movie lebih exciting and shows the rivalry of them in the first X-men movie. I think Hugh did a wonderful job akting all aggressive and all.
