As the nurse cleaned and bandaged, students and teachers started to line up outside. They crouched near the lockers on the walls and held their hands and arms in front of their face. The wind blew hard outside, howling like a wolf. Suddenly, the lights flickered on and off a couple times. Then, the lights went out with a flash of lightening and a giant crack of thunder. I heard Gina and Miranda scream. They’re such sissies.
The nurse had finished wrapping Megan’s arm before the lights went out, which is good. But I couldn’t help but think of Trey.
