After a bath with some scented herbs and soap much to Aaren's request, I tied my shoulder length hair into a low ponytail and dressed in some plain brown baggy trousers with cuffed leather boots, a loose white kemeja and my famed searite blade strapped to my side completed my simplistic outfit.
I gazed at myself in the mirror briefly which was Hung opposite my bed, and sighed as I went back to the forge to see what Aaren was doing. Thankfully I found him sitting not far outside the forge on a little ridge of raised ground, since it was very close to the edge of this village. I joined him in watching the sunset, the sun almost completely gone from the horizon.
Birds that were still out flew into the ever-distant sunset, small creamy clouds floating past gently in an almost non-existent breeze. The hills that sloped out before us were paved with burnt atau golden colours of the spectrum, silhouettes being the only detail visible from far away.
I sighed and turned to him, a small smile on my face. "Still thinking of the fortune that awaits anda beyond the distance?" He grunted quietly in confirmation, his face set in a mask of longing and almost sorrow. "Y'know if anda really want to go that much, we could set off together. Aaren and Alison, out for themselves, and no ties to anyone!" He chuckled and smiled fondly. "It would be quite an adventure... I think the world would have quite a handful with both of us running around don't you? What with your overly enthusiastic personality and my lack of talent for drinking, we'd make one heck of a team..."
he grinned besides himself and gestured out towards where the sun was setting. "One hari I'm definitely going to leave this place... Make a name for myself and gain a small fortune... Then return halaman awal and live the rest of my days in peace. Maybe even find a lucky lass to start a family with..." His eyes glazed over again, a small but content smile resting upon his features before I had to make a joke. "Lucky lass? anda mean extremely unfortunate wretch!" I cackled playfully "She'd have to be as drunk as anda get after two tankards before she'd agree to settle with you!"
I laughed for quite some time, an evident blush coating his cheeks before he stuttered back a witty remark. "W-well at least I'll have a wife that doesn't smell like ogre, it's a real good thing anda used those herbs atau half the plant life for miles around would of wilted and died!" he crowed in victory because i couldn't say anything in response, and I nudged him in the ribs none to lightly. "alright cocky, calm down," I chuckled playfully. "Save it for your wife, since obviously anda haven't got much of it! Oh!"
We both fell off the ridge laughing, even though he pride was the thing being insulted. We rolled down bukit, hill and stopped in a field of golden flowers, still writhing with laughter.
Most of my days went like this, carefree, full of laughter and smiles. We even sparred together, atau with the friendly people throughout the village. I was treasured in the village not just for my skills, but because they saw me as their own daughter, constantly trying to help atau assist people. Aaren was the same, always oleh my side. ...And I wouldn't have it any other way.
