Ian Eastwood, a 20 tahun old choreographer from Chicago, Illinois has been dancing since he was 10 years old. He has grown since then in both his dancing abilities and his presentation skills. One video in particular showcases both talents. What I look for in a great dance video is quality of video, some form of connection to the song, the experience of the choreographer, and an secara keseluruhan, keseluruhan positive outlook towards dance and the dance community. This video was put on YouTube recently titled Ian Eastwood Chance the Rapper. The video was filmed in L.A. where he currently resides due to his busy traveling schedule. He has traveled to over 17 countries teaching and spreading happiness through the art of dance. This piece has a story behind it, a story of growth and fun with friends. The whole video is about Ian trying to get over his fear of free styling in a group. It’s also a piece that he just wanted to have fun with bringing in some familiar faces from his crew. Being a fan, I don’t want anda to think I am biased towards him. The way the video comes together anda would not have had to watch his older video atau have been a fan for a long time to appreciate the effort and artistry displayed in his video. Without watching his older video anda would understand it just watching it and membaca the description. The cinematography involved in making the video is beautiful because everything is so crisp and clear from the audio to the image and the concept behind the video is even lebih so. Another aspect that sets this video apart from everyone else’s is that there is a strong connection with his hometown, Chicago. Everything from the style of clothing, the artist who made the song, and the footwork involved with the dance. This video really stands out from the crowd of people who just release dance video which isn't necessarily a bad thing. This video stands out from the rest of the dance video online because there is history behind it, skill, and experience.
Now, I have respect for any choreographer/artist out there because it does take a lot to be forthcoming. The way Ian does it though is beyond anything I have encountered. His friend Brian Puspos, a fellow artist and crew member, does the same thing and those two are the only ones that portray their art form that way. The whole dance industry atau “game” has been changed oleh Ian and his ideas, he is also supported oleh his crew member and brother Brian Puspos who shares the same ideas. Ian has truly proven himself as an artist and even lebih as a person oleh growing and learning from life experiences. His forearm tattoo reads in Latin: Ancora Imparo which translates to still learning. His work is amazingly put together and so are his ideas.
