I read it on Croatian so I didn't have any problem with the name because it was spelled on Croatian...not a big difference, though...in Croatian it is Hermiona, sooo not a problem, really...

Lol I was 6 or 7 and me and my dad would read it together and NEITHER of us knew how to pronounce it! We went through "HER-mee-one", "HER-mee-own", and "Her-mee-OH-nee". It wasn't until we saw the movie that we realized it was "Her-MY-oh-nee"

OK, I'm Turkish so when I first read books I say Hermione's name as Her-mo-ni cause I heard it in the film's dubbing. But then I watched the movie's original version and I learned how I gotta be to say her name.

When I started to read the HP books, I read them in Dutch (I was quite young, 9 or 10). In Dutch, Hermione is Hermelien, so I said the name right..
The first time I saw the movie I was like: hmm, okay, Hermelien in English is Hermione (I didn't know how to write it, only how to pronounce her name xD).

I was in first or second grade at the time, I didn't know how to pronounce it and my mom just guessed since we hadn't seen the movie and were just starting the first book. We pronounced it Her-mee-on, or some sort of variation close to that. When we watched Sorcerer's Stone, we were like, oh! and we thought it was much prettier and sounded way better than the way we said it.

Pretty easy to say it...because in the german translation it's "Hermine" which is a common name
I was eight or nine years old when I read the first three books...so when I found out her name was "Hermione" and not "Hermine" I was quite shocked
