Chapter Five
Hayley's POV
“I don't blame you.”
“What?” Josh asked looking up from the sheet of lyrics we just got done writing.
“I don't blame you.” I repeated in the same low murmur.
“Blame me for what?” He was definitely confused.
“For hating me.”
He dropped the lyrics and came over to sit beside me.
“Hayley I don't hate you. Why would anda think that?”
I was afraid to look at him, so instead I looked down at my tightly clasped hands. “Well anda barely ever talk to me. Ever since we got back from tour, and I started dating Chad, 5 weeks ago, I just feel like we never see each other. I just wanted anda to know that I don't blame anda for hating me. After what I did. I'm just a cold heartless bi –.”
“Don't beat yourself up over it Hayles. I'm not mad, we both knew it wasn't going to work. I guess I was just not thinking. It was what's best for the band. And besides I'm a man of my words, and I believe I made anda a promise. I'll always be your friend, Hayley, no matter what anda and I say atau do.”
I sighed with relief. “So really anda aren't mad? anda don't mind that I moved on so fast?”
He put his arm over my shoulder just like the old days, and I reflexively layed my head onto his shoulder.
“Nope I don't mind it. Chad's a pretty cool dude. Besides I met someone, too. Her name's Jenna.”
I stared at him in complete shock. Josh was seeing someone new? I couldn't believe it. That was the last I would expect to hear from him, but isn't that ok? I mean it's not like we're anything lebih than close friends. But why did news of him seeing a new girl hurt me so much? I'm with Chad now, not Josh.
“Wow. That's...great!”
“Yeah, she's really amazing, smart, funny...”
“Aww it sounds like Joshiekinz is in love.” My jantung started ache realized what I just said.
“I think I am.”
“That's great. I'm glad we're both moving on.” Deep inside I knew that I was lying.
“Yup. Hey! We should double-date sometime.”
“Yeah um how about Saturday night?”
“Sure. I'll just clear it up with Jenna to make sure.”
“And I'll clear it up with Chad.”
“Ok then sounds like a date.”
