Minnie Driver Reveals That The Producer Of Good Will Hunting Did Not Think She Was Hot Enough 

Minnie Driver can add her name to the list of actresses who were told they weren’t pretty enough for a movie role.

Driver, 46, ended up getting nominated for an Oscar for her performance in the 1997 film. As for who made the comment, the actress later explained she could not remember specifics but said it “came from the top.”

Fortunately the film’s stars and cowriters, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, as well as its director, Gus Van Sant, had Driver’s back.

“[They] fought very hard for me to play that role,” Driver said. “I am grateful to them until this day.”

The comments hurt, but Driver said she “was also together enough to know that hotness is a perception, not really a point of view.”
