I saw Artie as soon as I got back to my locker.
"There anda are", Artie said.
"Yep, here I am."
"You were going to ask me something, right?"
"Yeah, but I forgot what it was."

It was the end of the school hari and everyone was starting to leave. I gathered the necessary things from my locker. "Mind if I walk with you?"
"Not at all", berkata Artie with a smile.
--Later That Day--
I walked in the front door to see my mom washing the dishes and my dad watching televisi in the living room. "Greetings parental authorities."
My dad chuckled. "Greetings cynical adolescent." I gave my dad a hug.
"How school", asked my mom from the kitchen, which was in the same region of the living room.
I forgot I was still holding my school buku and that my backpack was still on. "Great! I made a few new friends."
"That's great, honey." My mom finished drying last of the dishes and came into the living room. "Did anda get to all your classes okay?"
"Yeah, thanks to Artie."
My dad raised an eyebrow. "And who's Artie?"
"He's this really nice boy that helped me around school today." My dad's eyebrow stayed in that position. "A really nice junior boy", I reassured my dad.
My dad's eyebrow went back down. "Oh."
"Well, I'm going to go get started on my homework." I started up the steps to my room. "And dad?"
Dad turned around to face me.
"He has a girlfriend." Even though I was hoping it wasn't true.
"Why would it matter to me?"
I rolled my eyes playfully at him. He smiled at me and I proceeded upstairs as before.
--In My Bedroom--
I hanged up my sweater in my closet and put my buku on my meja tulis, meja where I keep my laptop.
As I began on my homework, I began to think about Rachel and how she encouraged me to audition for West Side Story. Could it be that Rachel was setting me up? I star's on my Spanish homework first. She can't be. She was so nice. I finished the first three questions. But that's exactly what she'd want me to think! I turned over the paper to do the pertanyaan on the back. I thought about what Brittany berkata told me in the bathroom.
"After Sunshine and her became friends, not really."
I really hoped Brittany was right because I wanted to be Rachel's friend. I put my Spanish homework away. One homework done, two lebih to do.
I might have not known if Rachel was competitive atau not, atau why I even cared, but I knew that I wanted to be the lead of West Side Story. And nothing atau no one was going to stop me.
