if it's broken i normally don't flag it but ask, as my laptop is a bit rubbish

Yeah, I don't think I've ever reported something for being broken. I've only reported miscategorized or innaproriate stuff, and I don't tell them because I wouldn't know what to say...

I'd rather leave a comment or send a message to someone about it. At least that way they know why the post, link, etc. needs to be / was removed.
About a month ago, I posted a link that mysteriously disappeared. It was up for less than one day, and was rated a 5 by two people. The next day I checked to see if anyone else had rated it, and discovered it was nowhere to be found. I never got a message to tell me it was removed or explain why, but I'm guessing that someone flagged it... as to why, I'm absolutely clueless. :(

Often, especially on smaller, less-frequented spots, it will take a long time to get two people to flag the same thing because not enough people notice that it's broken. If so, I always leave a comment telling them - that way they can fix it right away and the spot isn't cluttered with broken links.

...? Why does it matter if TWO people flag content? It doesn't. The moderators act on broken links after two days (if the posting user doesn't fix them), regardless of how many times they've been reported.

But to answer the original question: I only tell the users about miscategorized content; the rest of the flags are obvious and are handled by the moderators. Some of the time, I don't even tell the users about those, even, in the rare cases where the user has an antipathy towards me and thus hasn't reacted well to similar comments in the past.
