THeyre more plain/cute than ugly. And I think Disney did that on purpose. Mulan has to look plain so she can pass off easier as a man (so no tatas) and Jane they made her quirkier/cuter over a sexbomb ala Esmeralda. I think it works

I don't consider her very pretty at all. And I know in China, she's considered hideous and they laugh at how this is the American idea of what a Chinese beauty looks like.

Neither, I think they're both beautiful in a very natural, simple way.

AM- really? What do they find ugly about her? (I knew they didn't like her but I'm curious why they dislike her looks.)
