Both are these smart bookwormy girls who live in close-minded towns and have dorky fathers. Both dream of having adventure in "the great wide somewhere" and at one point have fallen in love with a "brutish" guy (Lisa for a time crushed on Nelson).

Both are some of my least faves imo. While Belle is relatable she's kinda bland, and Lisa is annoying with her "i'm so smart and anyone who isn't me is a peasant" attitude. Still, when the show mostly showcases her sweet and sensitive side, she's much more likable.

Belle annoys me sometimes with her superiority, but Lisa is just insufferable.

Ah. I remember Lisa Simpson unfavorably. I don't like Belle as much as a lot of her fans do ( because I see some stuck-up issues in her just like UnholyNoise does), BUT I guess by default...she's okay.
