Absolutely! Not all are accurate...

I don't even see this as an issue. Because every person is an individual, I'm not sure you can classify certain behaviors as pertaining to a specific age. I mean, obviously if you throw a tantrum and your 25 you're not acting your age, but most of the DPs are teenagers which means hormones galore and very different stages of development.

I think for the older princesses, Cinderella, Tiana, Mulan, Pocahontas and Belle they do act (and look) their age, but for some of the younger ones not so much. For instance, Jasmine is supposed to be 15 going on 16 - she does not really look that way, and does act (usually) more mature. Rapunzel does seem younger than 18, Aurora looks way older than 16, and Snow White...*sigh*. I am fourteen, I know many fourteen year old girls, not a single one of them acts like Snow White, and all of them look way older than Snow White (I still love Snow though). Ariel and Merida also seem about 16. So, most of the princesses - yes they do portray their age in their actions/looks, but (as the answer I picked says) some of them no IMO

I think Snow looks a bit more mature than other fourteen year olds I know.

@gail_06 - Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and to share their thoughts.
But behaviour like your´s is not and we don´t like to see something like that in this club. We´re here to share our love for the DP´s and their movies and to discuss them, not to spread hate.

I think that the Dp´s act like their age because there are no rules how someone should act. Maturing does not only come with years, but also through experience and some of the DP´s were in situations, in which they simply had to grow up faster, like Snow White.
Like Powhatan says about Pocahontas - "My daughter speaks with the wisdom beyond her years."

And some of them do for sure. Ariel and Merida look and act sixteen. The older princesses like Tiana and Cinderella act their age. Snow White looks and acts a bit older then fourteen. Aurora looks like she's in her twenties. Rapunzel looks a little younger then 18 and acts like it too.

It's just Pocahontas...she confuses me. I think she looks like she is in her twenties at least, but she acts like a teenager, and I guess she is supposed to be one? But even if she were one, in the society she lives she should have taken over more responsibilities at this point...I guess that's the issue. In most cases, the age doesn't really make a difference, but the society does. Aurora acting very regal for a 16 year old makes sense because she lives in a society in which it is expected of a 16 year old to act like an adult (and think about marriage). Same for Tiana, it's normal for her to have a job (or two or three) early on, because that's how the world worked back then. And Ariel can act however she wants because, hey, she is a mermaid...you could say that she is 100 already, since she isn't human you can make up whatever you want. It's just when the behaviour of the princess contradicts with the setting of the movie when it starts to look odd.

Like others has said, some do and others don't, but that is reality as well. Some people look and sound older than their age, others look and act younger than their age; not every teenager looks and acts the same. When it comes to body structure, it is about genetics, not age; you could be 12 and be as muscular as a 16 year old. There is no set look that teenage boys and girls should look. You also have to look in the societies they live in. There were no teenagers at that time, and girls were supposed to be getting married at 12-13 years old, so I find this argument to be pretty weak.

Snow White: I've read that she was supposed to be 14. She looks to be that young, and acts very naïve.
Cinderella: I read that she was 16. She looks a little older to me, and acts more mature than I did at that age.
Aurora: She turns 16 in the movie. She also looks older to me, acts her age; not doing what she is told (talking to a stranger), and getting upset and throwing a hissy fit when she is told she is a PRINCESS.
Ariel: She is 16..."I'm sixteen years old - I'm not a child anymore!". She looks and acts her age IMO.
Belle: According to wikianswers Belle is 17.
"Belle is actually only 17. In the Alternate beginning, found on the Diamond Edition DVD, Belle's birthday is celebrated and on the cake it says "Happy 17th Birthday Belle". The beast is 21. He was 11 when the curse was put on him." I haven't seen this, so I can't confirm it. If so, Belle looks and acts older IMO.
Jasmine: According to link Jasmine is 16. She looks older to me. Sometimes she acts like a teenager, but at times she acts older.
Pocahontas: Not sure how old she is...but my guess would be in the 16-18 range. She doesn't look or act her age IMO.

Not at all! They all look and sound like they are in their 20's. (Snow White and Rapunzel look young, but Snow White looks older than a 14 year old and Rapunzel could pass for someone in their 20's) Some act like teens, but look to old and mature looking to a 16 year old. I wouldn't believe what Wikipedia says. It says Belle is 17, but in the original story, she's 20 which is more believable. I also think its messed up that Ariel and Jasmine has ``sex appeal" when they are only 16! WTF?! Tiana is in her late teens and acts mature, but she's more like she's in her 20's.
