Snow White

I really like Snow White. She started everything for Walt, and made disney a thing. Being the first princess, of course Snow isn't going to be as perfect atau well rounded as well as them, but she's great for a starter. What i really like about her is that throughout her whole movie, she didn't complain about anything. She didn't complain about almost being killed (that's so weird to type), she didn't complain about cleaning all the time, atau about the dwarves at all. She also had a huge heart, and didn't push away the old lady when she came to the window/door. I really think Snow White is one of the best role model out of all the disney princesses because of how optimistic she is, and being with our world today, I think everyone needs a bit of it in their life.

Cinderella

Even though I don't have a favorit disney Princess daftar (yet, I may try to sort one out sooner atau later after this article), cinderella will forever be my favorite. I honestly cinta how witty and clever she can be sometimes, out smarting an abusive family that thinks of her no lebih than a servant to them and not a step-sister atau step-daughter. Never once did she try to do any harm to anyone, atau try to ruin their posessions. And when she finally did get her "dream come true" from her fairy godmother she thanked her plenty. I honestly 100% can't see why people would hate her, as cinderella isn't too nice but isn't too mean. She's got a lot of common sense, self love, and treats everyone as she would treat herself. Her temper isn't huge, and she's well-rounded.

Aurora

Is it weird I have really nothing to say about Aurora? Even though she's my detik favorite, I honestly have no opinion on her except she's graceful, gentle, and polite. I guess since Aurora had a pretty easy-going life (up until the whole needle thing), she didn't face any difficulties that developed her character more. I don't see any flaws in her, but I don't see anything superior, either.

Ariel

I like Ariel. I don't cinta her but I've got a strong liking for her that's grown over the past month.

A lot of people say that Ariel's ignorant atau selfish for her decision, but I say for her decision, shes' grown up. Ariel's sixteen, going onto seventeen soon, and she needs to get her shit straight. Yeah, she wasn't the "perfect" daughter for a king, but were any of her sisters really? We see absolutely no scenes where they explain all the stupid things her sisters probably did, so why do people say Ariel's the only ignorant one?

When Ariel made the decision to sell her voice to Ursula to get human legs, she was ready to take on a batch atau responsibilities. She was willing to learn to walk, how to use human objects, and adapt to their life style. She was following her dream, her goal, and sometimes in order to do that in life anda need to let go of your family and pindah to other places. Of course Ariel wouldn't of completely cut off communication with her father atau sisters, because she knew she could get Eric, and once she got her voice back she could talk to them again. Back when the movie was made, it was common a lot for girls between the ages of sixteen and up to finally get married and start a family, so she was probably pretty prepared and ready for that. (I'm not talking about the 1989 period, oleh the way).

Also, I don't find Ariel ignorant; I find Ursula to be unfair. No one else was going to do this for Ariel, (turn her into a human) and once Ariel got it Ursula totally banteng shitted on it.

Hence, Ariel's probably going to be another one of my favorites.

Aang_Lite Well, this was a very interesting article . I can't say I agree with all your opinions but I do appreciate all the time and effort that you went into when making your article. Especially the Ariel part! So I decided to just do a basic rundown of what I do agree with and don't: For Snow White, while I agree that's important to be optimistic, I find that she's unrealistically so. I mean she was almost killed and then all of the sudden decides to apologize to the wildlife? It sort of makes her own negative emotions seem unworthy, like she's lesser for being scared or feeling upset. I would accept this if she used this happiness as a coping mechanism, but the movie never addresses it, nor does she ever change, so I'm not really that fond of the trope. Though I will admire her for the compassion she shows for the old lady. Definitely agree on what you said for Cinderella and it's why I love her so much. She maintains a true heart of gold in all the adversity she faces, though unlike Snow she reacts realistically to it all. When her step-sister tear her dress, she cries. When Tremaine tries to lock her away, she begs and pleads. But she still manages to be a good person despite all this. And most importantly, the movie doesn't act condescending towards her negative emotions. I can definitely understand liking Aurora and not knowing exactly why. I'm much in the same boat myself. There's just something ethereal and other-worldly about her that I just can't help but like. If you told me she was actually a wood nymph, I would believe you almost immediately. As for Ariel, I agree that Ursula acted unjustly. However, I do think Ariel deserves a lot more flack too. Even though we never see how the other sisters act, at least [i]they[/i] where at Triton's party. And even if they do act worse than Ariel, that still doesn't make Ariel's actions right. Two wrongs don't make a right. And just because she was [i]willing[/i] to become human, that does not mean she [i]accepted[/i] the responsibilities or consequences of her actions. Sure, she accepted the idealized world she had created in her mind, but none of it was grounded in reality. She's just lucky she was pretty and Eric kinda remembered what she looked like, or she would be out in the town naked and with absolutely no means of providing for herself. And the fact that she was willing to just abandon her family just proves my point even more. She just wasn't thinking when she made her decision, and almost suffered fatally for it. but overall, this was a really nice article. I hope to get to read more from you soon.

8804 @Aang_Lite: Funny how Elsa doesn't get the same HUGE FLACK for TOTALLY ABANDONING her family, too ( her own sister), and the rest of her kingdom!!! Great article! I loved the comments you've made. I'm looking forward to your next piece.

Aang_Lite @8804 Well at least she had a reason for doing it, misguided as it was. She honestly thought she would cause more harm than good by being there. Not that it excuses her for abandoning her duties as queen, but at least it was more of a reason that "Ooh that guy's pretty and the human world looks totes cool".

MissCinico @8804 Ariel knew that Ursula was evil (Sebastian tells her this and she blows him off) and did this so [i]she[/i] could be happy. Elsa was scared and she thought that the kingdom was better off without her. They have completely different situations. While I admire Ariel for not listening to her father's prejudice, she did so in a selfish way and was too curious for her own good. She doesn't just avoid ceremonies (whether she is being forced to go to them or not) she doesn't care about them or the fact that she disappointed her father or that she embarrassed Sebastian. Elsa goes in public to things she would rather avoid because she does not solely think about herself.

MissCinico I liked your article rapunzelsgold_ and I hope to see you continue with them. I disagree with you on Ariel, but other than that I loved it.

8804 ^^Well, I do find Elsa's moment of self-actualization a BIG reason that totally undermines the continuous argument that she's so selfless. I also think Elsa DOES NOT solely think of others. The main reason Elsa tells Anna that "you can't marry a man you just met," is because she's panicking about her own concerns ( revealing her powers in public). Also, Ariel is selfish, yes, about wanting to become a human against her father's wishes ( but all of that preceded her EVER seeing Eric). Ariel did all she did because SHE WANTED TO BE A HUMAN, and not simply because of moon-faced Eric. Eric was just a tag-along for the ride. The whole sequence of "Tour of the Kingdom" shows Ariel paying more attention to the surroundings on land, than to the prince. In fact, she's dragging him behind her. You also can't claim Elsa is selfless when she is singing, " I don't care what they're going to say ( about the fact that she's just frozen everything for everybody in Arendelle)! The cold never bothered me anyway!" The cold definitely bothers other people, though--- and Elsa knows this even if she's in denial. I also think that when Elsa hits her sister with ice in the chest--- that that isn't an "act" that would show an older sister "protecting" her own younger sister. That's not an act of love. Sending a massive snow golem to chase her sister away is also not an act of love nor a sign of protection. Everyone downs Ariel constantly, but Elsa is not a good character, either. Elsa does a HEAP of bad things, too.
