No. If the ratings completely slide from 5x01 onwards then the producers only have themselves and Stelena to blame. I endured 3x22 because I knew Elena would pick Damon eventually and that she loved him. I'm not sitting through another season of SE again.

I'm tired of this. I know the base for TVD is the love triangle, but in the previous seasons it had some quality at least. Now they have no good ideas for more DE obstacles so they come up with crap like this sire bond etc. It's enough for me. It's the same situation as in Gossip Girl (Chuck & Blair) - 3 good seasons and then going downhill straight to the bottom.

same here!! i can't handle the constant stelena cheese anymore!! it was tolarable before, but now it's down right annoying!! and it's seriously gettingto me now! i swear if stelena endup back together at the end of this season. then that's it. im walking away from this show. it's bad and humiliating enough that we had to put up with an awful cheesey ending in the books, but in the show aswell?? no, just....NO!! for me, it's delena or nothing.

If she doesn't choose Damon now, I doubt she ever will. Plus it would make no sense and would ruin Elena's growth, so season 5 would not interest me.

If you're watcing the show for one ship than maybe you should really stop watching...seriously people come on. I like both couples, but I think Elena and Stefan are going to be together in the end. that shouldn't make you hate the show. Well maybe if you're five yeah, but i guess you're not. Seriously chill.

@AllieDian, I don't think anyone started watching the show just because of DE. I didn't, but I totally became obsessed with them around 1x03. It's different for you: you say you 'like' both couples, but I think you probably prefer Stelena anyway, so it doesn't bother you that Delena are constantly given a hard time, or are usurped by Stefan, or are given some impossible obstacle to overcome. You obviously aren't affected by what happens to DE in the same way, and so it won't matter to you if DE never become a couple if you prefer SE. I notice you joined the SE spot but you're not a member of this one. Why shouldn't we hate the show if Elena picks Stefan - again?? We've been waiting for DE to become a couple for 4 YEARS. How is it fair or justified if every choice in every finale she makes favours Stefan, when she's supposed to be in love with Damon, and the show is supposed to be a 'love triangle'? Turn things around and imagine SE were in DE's place. Imagine you'd been watching the show for 4 seasons, hoping they'd get together but every time they got close to being where you wanted them to be, the writers played a cruel trick of yanking them right back to square one...and then kept insisting that the show is based on 'a love triangle'. Would you be so laid-back then, I wonder...?

@delenasalvatore The difference between you and me is that I watch this show for the entire story and not just for one couple's story. It is possible to like both couples, I do actually for different reasons, enjoy both. (&I haven't joined much spots yet, it's my new account). And no, you're right, I'm not. Because I don't get worked up over a story on a tv show that is meant to be dramatic and always keeping you interested. That's why they do a love triangle story on shows like this one. What I don't get is, since you admitted you haven't started watching it for DE, why would you stop watchin the show because the couple (that isn't the main couple on the show anyway) didn't get together. BTW SE haven't been a couple for two seasons, even when she chose him it didn't even last for 5 episodes. All I'm saying is chill and enjoy the show. It's really tiring to always read about people hating on the other couple.

excuse me but you are on the delena spot now. and really, noone cares if you watch this show for the intire story. if that's the case, maybe you should quit coming on the delena spot spouting your rubbish, and just stick to the VD one instead. weather you like or not, delena are the majority of the fandom. they are soul and main reason that most people watch the show. because they're are the ones that make it awsome. and it's as simple as that. stelena and multishippers can go on as much as they like about stelena being the true "epic" love story of the show, they can go on and on about them being the main couple of the show. but it's clear as day that the show, is telling and showing us a VERY different story. it's obvious, that the show has been heading in the delena direction from day one. don't get me wrong, there are many story arcs couples, and characters on that show, that i simply adore. but not one of them lights up the screen like delena do, they are the heart and soul of the show, and obviously people are going to stop watching if writer's keep trying to shove a certain cheesy couple down our throats. im sorry, that's the way it is, and that is my opinion. deal with it! and get out of our spot. it's obvious that you are not a fan.

@AllieDian, isn't that kind of the point of shipping though? To me, Delena's story IS dramatic and interesting, and that's why people get so worked up about the thought that they can't be together. They've been watching it unfold for 4 seasons, they feel passionately for the reasons why they belong together, and the possibility that they might never kills them. If fans aren't emotionally invested in a story/ship, then the writers and actors aren't doing their jobs properly. I got into the show sort of accidentally. I was channel-hopping one night, when I came across 1x04. The scene was when Damon and Elena have been left alone together at the founders party/exhibition thing and he says "Doesn't it always come down to the love of a woman?" As I watched, I quickly realised Elena was with Stefan (but at the time I didn't know who he was). I was intrigued by DE (at the time, I didn't know their names), but confused by how I felt as well, because Damon was the 'bad guy'. So the next day, I watched the previous episodes on ITVplayer. And boom! At the end of 1x03 I fell completely in love with DE and I've been that way ever since. I also liked the show, but DE kind of became my main reason for watching it. But I didn't go into it thinking, 'There's Damon, there's Elena, they're my OTP,' I didn't know them from the books or anything. I saw a promo for TVD on YouTube and then on ITV and thought I would try it, but I kept forgetting when the show was on and missed the first 3 episodes.
DE ARE the main couple in my eyes. The chance that I might quit the show (obviously that's not going to happen now), was not a decision I made lightly. I felt disappointed and very critical of how the writers handled DE this season, I was beyond weary of the love triangle, and the idea that the season might end with SE (again) was too much. When Elena chose Stefan in 3x22, I felt like I'd been punched in the stomach. If she chose him again in this season, then I knew she would never choose Damon. With all hopes of DE ever becoming a reality shot to pieces, there wasn't enough in the show to entice me into watching when the new season started. That is not being hateful, that is just being honest.

eu sou portuguesa e não me apetece a escrever em ingles, como já referiram em cima, se a elena escolhesse o Stefan ía arruinar o seu crescimento como personagem. para mim a elena já não ama o Stefan, quer dizer para mim ela já não esta apaixonada por ele e acho que isto foi acontecendo desde a terceira temporada, odiei a escolha dela no final da terceira temporada, mas eu meio que compreendi, ela antes namorava com ele e ele foi-se embora por causa daquela houve aquela confusão com o klaus e as coisas não ficaram resolvidas, por isso acho que ela escolheu o Stefan para ver como realmente se sentia, e depois acho que ela vi que já não era como era dantes.o seu sei que a serie se baseia no triangulo amoroso, mas não vai fazer sentido nenhum se ela voltar a ter sentimentos pelo Stefan e ficar com ele, para mim vai arruinar a serie, quer dizer com a rebekah a compeliu a elena para dizer a verdade e ela disse que já não estava apaixonada pelo Stefan, e ela não podia mentir e também deu a cura a ele, sabendo de que aqui a alguns anos ele ia morrer, para mim esta temporada mostrou que ela não gosta dele e não vai fazer sentido voltar a pô-los juntos. e alem disso eu odeio o Stefan não aguento vê-lo com ninguém mas muito menos com a elena, são muito aborrecidos e parece que sem ser o damon eles não tinham" obstáculos" , são demasiado perfeitos para serem reais, e o que eles dizem um para o outro soa muito a falsidade que dizer "it always gonna be Stefan", "i want be with you forever" ou qualquer coisa do género vê-se que é falso pis a elena gostava do damon
