A Fan's Response to 'People Hating On Ian'

Hi,

The penulis of 'People Hating on Ian' has adopted the notion that opinions diverging from her own are nothing lebih than disgruntled attacks. I disagree.

We're all TVD fan and we can agree that we all cinta the tampil to a fault. In fact, I think TVD fan are some of the most passionate fan out there and quite frankly, that's great; but I don't want to see that passion manifest itself into something its not. I don't want to see it manifest into this accusatory system pitting one faction against the other. Trust me, it isn't necessary. A lot of us (including myself) can do a lot better than that.

Anyway, where was I...expressing one's displeasure with an actor/actress' past performances atau a character's past transgressions is not an admission of hostility atau hate but a way in which one can express their feelings about the secara keseluruhan, keseluruhan direction of the show/characters. Many of us, including myself, may use unorthodox methods to get that message across but in no way is it indicative of some deep-seeded hostility towards the actors themselves.

Please keep that in mind when addressing statements, posts atau artikel oleh other fan (or oleh me for that matter). Speaking of which, a link to a Bamon artikel may give readers (within this forum) the impressions that something foul is afoot. I'm here to assure anda all that none could be further from the truth. The artikel and the balasa it received are nothing lebih than expounded opinions.

INLOVEWITHDAMON Firstly I would like to thank you for being respectful. Secondly I would like to once again elaborate on the fact that my frustration was not JUST based on that article. There was a whole different kind of drama on twitter yesterday regarding Ian as well. If other people chose to bring that article in the discussion that's their business, and it's separate from my thoughts. I never called out any individuals. You say it's not hostility towards the actors, but I say that's exactly what it is. Placing blame on the actor who doesn't share your view is wrong in my opinion. I think it was just yesterday when I saw someone here call JP a bitch and I asked them not to do that. I don't like it when any shippers try to place blame on the actors and writers, especially the actors, considering they have no control over what happens in the show. It's like people sending hate tweets to Kat after "Isobel" all over again. Anyway I understand that you don't agree with my premise so I'm not going to try to convince you of otherwise.

ducky8abug @Katie15: Yes, guilty as charged. I called all DE fans 'obnoxious little freaks.' I thought it was the best tactic against some unwarranted comments in a S/E thread. Not my finest moment, but none that could be helped at the moment. Anyway, thank you for reading and please keep in mind that we're all here to celebrate the awesomeness that is TVD.

ducky8abug @INLOVEWITHDAMON: I'm always respectful, even when appearances prove false. Anyway, your take on the article is a matter of interpretation. When we express our thoughts, some rely on emotion while others use objectivity. I lean towards the latter. I read that article and interpreted it as the author's displeasure in Ian's performances. Her article and subsequent replies revealed that she was displeased with Ian's past performances. She thought his performances were not as passionate in Season 2 as they were in Season 1. If you go back and re-read not only the article but the replies she received as well as her responses, you'll note that her answers correlate with what I am posting now. In fact, if you'd like, you are more than free to re-direct your attention to that article and review past statements. I guarantee there is nothing ingenious or hostile about it.

ducky8abug @Aubreykarew: I understand and of course, you're free to feel that way. I look towards all opinions as a door towards ideas I've never even considered. Others may see it differently. Either way, its all good.

So after the last episode was aired the Damon hate started again. Over what? Damon saying to Elena, “Let me be clear about something. If it comes down to anda and the witch again I will gladly let Bonnie die. I will always choose you.”

The hate doesn’t make any sense. Ok so Damon was sweet and nice to Bonnie. I bet some fan thought that he cared about her but guess what? He never cared about her! He may respect / understand her, but he’s never gonna actually care for her on a romantic level! And as of right now I don’t see him caring about her at all. All I see is respect...

Let's be clear about something: I LIKE Stefan, even if I don't like how he behaves towards Damon sometimes. I am not reprimanding the DE fan who enjoy 'Defan'. I accept that it is one of the central ships of the show, and an important one at that. What I cannot understand however, is the fan who view Defan atau 'Team Salvatore' as this sacred, untouchable bond and a ship above all others just because they are brothers.
