I was, literally, sitting on the edge of my seat as I watched Caroline and Matt make a mad-dash for the slave quarters buried below. Watching them get out of dodge while werewolf Tyler hunted them down was EPIC. Watching Tyler transform was sheer agony. I felt so bad for the boy and frightened for Caroline.

There were s/ls that bugged. Having Elijah's motives tied in with his past infatuation with Katherine was a rehash of Damon and Stefan. Similarly, turning Jenna into a vampire was a rehash of Caroline in the beginning of Season 2. It seems as if the show is not making any effort to come up with new stories, imo.

Also, Nina Dobrev playing dual roles was not a good idea. If I were new viewer, and hadn't been privy to the story thus far, I would not have known that Nina was playing two separate characters from two separate eras. I think her portrayal of both falls flat...and I'm sorry if that bothers people, but that's the way I feel.

But the biggest thing that bothered me was Greta. I wanted to know how she felt about her father and brother's death? I wanted to know how it affected her and unfortunately, I didn't the follow-up or the story I was looking for.

Oh yeah, and Damon was bitten. I wish I could say I was shocked but I'm not. He'll end up surviving somehow and beating the curse or something.

Anyway, that's my take on the show. By the by, loved Stefan tonight. Again, he broke my heart. Why does he always do that?
