Defense of original Book Bamon fan who also ship tampil Bamon
Kay, so I wrote this out of extreme annoyance at a certain fanbase who claims that some of us only ship tampil Bamon because of the dynamic of Bamon in the buku (which is completely not true).
Since I am a fan who loved Book Bamon before the tampil even aired, I thought I could give my take on it.
So, three years yang lalu when, when I was twelve, I read the VD book series. I was just getting over a “Twilight” phase (now before anda roll your eyes, I am not obsessed with it anymore. I still like it, but I know there are many other vampire fandoms that are better like VD, Anne Rice, Underworld, and ect.)
Anyway, I bought the buku and began to read.
I was a Stelena fan in the buku from the start (meaning I NEVER shipped Delena), but Damon’s character still interested me. I just hadn’t been sure who I wanted him with.
That was, until I read Dark Reunion. After that, Bamm! It was instant love, and Bamon became my OPT.
I wanted them together SO bad, and my cinta only grew for them lebih when I read Nightfall (which I believe, was the last book to come out before the tampil aired).
Two years later, when I heard there was going to be a televisi show, I quickly became excited. I couldn’t wait to see one of my favorit book series become a tampil that I could watch on every Thursday.
So on the night the pilot episode was to air; I sat down and watched it with my mom and sister.
And….I was disappointed, a little angry even. At the time, I had been expecting and hoping for it to be like the book series, so I could see the characters come to life.
VD was the first CW tampil I watched, so I wasn’t aware of how much they change things when they adapt buku into shows (from what I heard, “Gossip Girl” was originally a book series, and they changed that greatly too).
So to put it short, I didn’t like the tampil at first, AT ALL.
The only thing that kept me watching was my sister, who hadn’t read the buku and was intrigued oleh the idea of the tampil its self.
I cooled down a bit, and decided to give the tampil a chance, completely erasing the hope of it similar to the buku from my mind.
And I began to cinta the tampil as a whole, book series aside. But like book Damon, I wasn’t sure who I wanted tampil Damon with, since I figured Bonnie and Damon were NOTHING like the ones from the book series.
So yes, even though I was still completely in cinta with book Bamon, I didn’t ship tampil Bamon at all at first.
That was, until I saw the episode “History Repeating”. After that, the idea of Bamon in the tampil intrigued me, as did Kat and Ian’s chemistry.
So I got on trusty Fanfiction.net, and read some amazing tampil Bamon fanfiction and bam! Just like I had with book Bamon, I instantly fell in cinta with the idea of tampil Bamon.
The point I’m trying to make is, though I loved book Bamon long before I even knew there was going to be a show, I do cinta tampil Bamon for totally different reasons (even though I do sometimes find similarities between the two).
I ship tampil Bamon FOR what they are, tampil Bamon, NOT because I read the buku and already loved book Bamon. I know they are entirely two different things.
And I’m sure many others feel the same way I do…
