If you think about it, only two heroines are blonde (Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty). We need to keep it true to the story... blondes are under-represented! ;) Plus, these two are thought of as the less "intelligent" (how very stereotypical) heroines by many people. If a smart woman like Liv Tyler (w/ blonde hair) played her, maybe it'd lessen that.
