Animated film Representing People of Color & Different Cultures

I thought with the many claims of lack of representation in children's films as a PoC I should take it upon myself to bring some underrated film of different cultures to light. Granted not all of these are necessarily children's films, but they are all animated and I personally think every kid should see them.

I have each ethnicity I could think of and animated film where that ethnicity is well-represented. I want to build on this so if anda don't see your ethnicity here please tell me, I want as many film as I can get with as many different walks-of-life! These depictions are supposed to be respectful.

Note: These are animated feature films that represent the ethnicity, It does not take into account where the film were made, but instead which ethnicity is the one being represented on screen. So for Example, a French made movie whose main cast is Arabic will be in the Arabic section and not the French, the on-screen people is what matters not the nation it was created in.

UnholyNoise wow, this is extensive! so many new movies to check out. the rabbi's cat is fantastic, everytime i bring it up though no one knows what i'm talking about :( bluth's fievel movies count too - that family is for sure canonically jewish (they celebrate chanukah!!) and made me so happy as a smol jewish kid desperate for representation.

JungleQueen13 Interesting, there's definitely a lot of non-mainstream movies I've never heard of. Out of curiosity, do you know of any animated movies with adequate representation of Australian Aborigines or Maori people? I know Dot and the Kangaroo features Aboriginal people but it is a rather poor representation.

And thanks for mentioning more Jewish movies, but I do want the characters to at least appear human in the movie, otherwise I do consider it poor representation, because some people get offended by it, thanks for the mention though! @Sparklefairy glad you enjoyed! There's tons of Animated movies rich in East Asian culture, it's incredibly vast and beautifully done, I couldn't even fit them all on the list.

MissCinico @JungleQueen13 Unfortunately I didn't find any movies with the Melanesian/Aboriginal Ethnicity that I thought had good representation, if I did I would've included it here. I have listed the movie you mentioned though, but only for the white girl featured, the aboriginal representation as you said was poor. I plan to do a little more digging to try and see what I can find and hopefully add it to the list. If you find any movies as well please let me know, it's a shame this one group doesn't have much animated screen time.

I've seen some on this list all except The Emperor's New Groove and Tarzan for the Disney films, Anastasia, Thumbelina, The Last Unicorn, The Tale of Princess Kayuga, Titanic, and one that isn't on there, The Swan Princess. Although I don't know where it's set. Jean-Bob is French though. Yeah no idea. The others I haven't seen so I might look into them. Another one that's missing is The Princess and the Goblin, English.

My daftar can change drastically but there are some things that never change. Some characters who are considered gorgeous are not on it, that's why it's my personal list. This is only based on looks but I have to cinta the way she looks, it's not necessarily who I think looks 'perfect'. Besides, I think flaws usually add up to someone's beauty. Doing the sexiest animated heroines artikel made me take a detik look at other characters and I must say I've overlooked some characters' appearances.

The original movie is one of my all-time favorit movies, not just in animasi but in general. Till I find out what Jane Porter is (could anda help me? I have made a pertanyaan in the jawaban section), I decided to do Meg, as she is easier and I really cinta her. The difficult thing about her is that she appears to have two personalities, the caring lover who sacrificed herself for a man and the cold menggerutu, jalang who likes playing with people's feelings because she's been hurt. I took lebih into consideration her detik personality, because it's the one we see for the most time of the movie.
