I love the Discworld books.

Goodkind's first book was amazing - but further into the series he gets very repetitive.

i love the diskworld but i am also a HUGE shakepear fan and i love hitchhikers guide to the galaxy so a really hard choice for me!

i love love love him :). Shakespeare, Pullman, Adams, and Rowling are all pretty high up on my list as well.

I haven't read 'Diary' yet, but loved 'Weapons of Mass Destruction' with Adrian Mole

I wouldn't like reading if it wasn't for my 4th greade(Sp?) teacher and J.K. Rowling, so yeah....

I also love Chaucer!!! the Canterbury(sp?) Tales rule! lol. and of course, the Man himself, Shakespeare! Hamlet kicks ass!!!

That was like the hardest choice ever they are all good authors.

Okay, this is weird, but DrDevience, could you please delete my addition? I'd like to choose Jane Austen. I cannot believe I didn't think of her immediately, but as soon as I saw JK Rowling, my mind somehow blocked out all but current writers.

Neil Gaiman is the master of fantasy. I love him. JK Rowling has all the writing style of a seven year old.
