She sat, completely silent, on her couch. It was one in the morning and, again, she couldn't sleep.For the last week it had been like this. She went to work, acted strong for everyone there, came home, attempted to sleep and be a normal person, and then ended up on her couch, thinking.

Her compartmentalizing wasn't working either. She could be hunched over a dead body, atau membaca a book, atau talking to Angela, and suddenly the three words she hated the most came to mind: Booth is gone.

Booth is gone. There was another word to add to that, to make it completely true, but she couldn't bare to say it, even if it was just in her head. And she couldn't help but tell herself, every time he came to mind, that she couldn't have cared as much as she seems to have. They had kissed once, and yes it was everything she wanted all morphed into one simple thing, but that was it. Nothing lebih happened. Life, as they knew it, went on.

So she sat on her couch, replaying that night over and over again in her head. Why hadn't she seen Pam take out the gun? She should have taken the bullet, not Booth.

And that's what she told herself all the time. it was her fault.

This particular night was no different. She sat staring blankly ahead of her.

Her eyes grew wide. Booth was dead, and he was the only person who had ever called her that. Ever.
