Ok, here's the whole short story... please komentar and rate!
Booth walked back into the Jeffersonian to pick up Brennan for dinner. They had just solved another case, and it was tradition. When he saw that she had already finished all the paperwork and was getting ready to leave, continued his merry way. He enjoyed spending time with her.
“Ok, Bones, what’ll it be tonight?” Booth asked her happily as he walked into her office. “Sushi, Tai, Pizza… have I ever reminded anda about how good you’re mac n’ cheese is?” he stopped when he realized that there was no answer. “What?” Brennan looked like she was working up to an apology. Booth paused. “No, don‘t tell me…”
“Sorry Booth, I can’t tonight, I have a tanggal with Andrew”. She didn’t look sorry. In fact, she looked quite pleased, though her expression changed as soon as she saw Booth’s crestfallen expression.
This was the last straw, and she hated to see him behave like this “I don’t see what you’re problem is, am I not allowed to have a outside of the lab?” she said, nearly shouting as she began to feel angry. What did he care what she did with her life?
“Bones, before I came along you‘re life was the lab!” he defended himself, but he realized he had crossed a line.
“You don’t know that, Booth”. That hurt. She stood up.
“Bones, I just don’t think it’s a good idea to go out with you’re boss!” Booth was nearly shouting too.
Brennan was extremely annoyed “Oh, so who is a good idea for me to go out with, you?”
There was silence. Booth looked at her as if he were about to answer, shook his head and left, leaving Brennan standing there, confused. What had she said?
Booth slammed his car door shut and sat there for a while. Now he was going to have to apologize; he’d do it tomorrow, let her worry about him for a while. Ugh, this was getting out of control, but he couldn’t help it. Anyway, what did Andrew have that he didn’t? A better job… but not much else. He decided to try and forget about it and go home.
Brennan got to work the selanjutnya day. She thought about her tanggal with Andrew; she never really got embarrassed, but she had been zoned out the whole time. When Andrew had asked her what was wrong, she had immediately answered without thinking “Booth”. She had promised to herself, and Booth, that when she went on a tanggal with Andrew, they would not talk about him. She broke that promise for a detik time now, and she was nervously expecting Booth’s arrival. But Booth didn’t come. He was never supposed to come unless they had a case, but she enjoyed his little visits. She hoped that nobody had been murdered, because she wasn’t sure of what to expect from Booth’s appearance.
On the tanggal with Andrew, Booth turned into a jinxed word; she knew that they were just partners, and Andrew knew that too, but he couldn’t help but pertanyaan it. Nothing had happened, she had excused herself with work as a reason. He understood.
She was halfway through her work when Angela came in, ready for details. “Sorry Sweetie, I’ve been stumped… so, tell me everything” she demanded. Brennan replied with out taking her eyes away from her laptop’s screen “Nothing happened Ange” though Angela wouldn’t take no for an answer. “Sure…” she drew up a chair opposite Brennan’s desk. “Didn’t anda go?” she asked as she closed Brennan’s laptop. “Hey, Ange, I was working!”
“Tell me what happened. I’m desperate here, you’ve gotta help me out, shed light on my shady situation.” she pleaded.
“I thought things were going well with Wendell, and why do anda need a torch?” Angela ignored the last comment. “Dish” she ordered. Brennan gave up.
“We went for dinner…”
“Yes…”
“We ate, and talked, and that’s about it.” Angela was disappointed, but she didn’t give up as Brennan attempted to open her laptop again.
“What did anda talk about?”
“Um, work” Brennan answered. Angela sat back. “Really, Bren, anda talked about work?”
“Sorry to disappoint” Brennan smirked. “Oh, Ok, anda win. anda can work.” Angela said, getting up to leave, faking excitement. “Thank you.” Brennan answered. Angela was about to leave, but when she got to the doorway she asked “Hey, have anda seen Booth? He’s my daily eye candy, I need him… Daisy‘s here eating my head off, and since Hodgins isn’t here yet as a decoy…”
“Oh, no, he hasn’t come in today. Ring Sweets, he‘ll be lebih than happy to-”
“What? Hasn’t Booth brought anda breakfast yet?” she mocked.
“I can make my own breakfast, Ange.”
“So?, it’s hot the way he treats you. And you’re not even dating. It took Hodgins a while to get to that stage.” she sounded cheerful enough, but when she remembered Hodgins her smile faltered. “How did he take you’re tanggal with Andrew?” Brennan became uncomfortable.
“Angela, I have work, unlike some people…”
“Hey, come on, when anda need a face, who is it anda come to?” she remarked as she trotted off. On her way to her office, she spotted Booth, who looked pretty reluctant with a case file in his hand. “Hey Boothy” she cooed. “Oh, hey Angela.” He looked like he was looking for a distraction as he stopped oleh her. “How’s it going?” he asked. Angela was puzzled. “Um… fine, how about you?” she asked, though it sounded like a different question.
“ Did bones tell anda anything about her… date?” he asked. Angela smiled. Busted. “Yeah, but nothing happened. Why?”
“Oh, no reason” he walked off, slightly lebih cheerful.
